Reply to "Say you could stop the school shootings-then what??"

Meanwhile, in America:  Americans are killing other Americans in schools.

True but don't we have LAWs, an abundance of them, making murder illegal, banning murder?  Same laws exist in Chicago and Baltimore yet there are murders every day even involving innocent kids but in the case of school shootings, new laws banning guns is the answer to all those evils.

Remember prohibition and when the government banned alcohol?  How did that work out and did that eliminate problems stemming from alcohol?   What it did was create or explode a new industry .. CRIME Inc with folks like Al Capone prospering to a great degree and bringing about rum running and other ways to achieve obtaining that which was banned but was desired enough to justify, in many people's minds, whatever it took to obtain it.  Some could even say that it made the Kennedy family what they are.

I am though curious and either from you or some others who advocate eliminating guns, do you really think and believe that there will be no more school deaths?   There are many ideas and I will admit that some or most of them might, under the right exact circumstances, prevent some future act but I believe chances are that they won't but that's no reason for doing nothing.

I have no problem with the stores, that made the decision not to sell that type of gun, making the decision they did as that is their decision.  My problem with gun laws and the such is that the Constitution has a prescribed way to handle amendments and changing them or eliminating them and that is the way to handle this and not by Congressional legislation or act or by Executive order.  Trump banning the bump stock by executive order was a good move and wasn't infringing on the 2nd amendment but my fears are that there will be attempts to make moves that will infringe on the 2nd amendment.
