Oh, I'm not saying turn down the lottery if you won it nor am I saying to live in poverty or desire such.  I'm just saying that for many that do win they don't know what to do or have a plan to deal with it and thus in a few short years they end up worse off then they were before they won.   Just saying that sometimes what you wish for isn't always the best thing depending.

Agreed, there are many tales of woe of persons who win the lottery and don't manage it well.  Finding a decent financial manager and a tax accountant should be the first priority.  Changing your phone number is a good idea, as well.
