am aware I can't carry in Illinois, so are they liable if something happens? since they are saying I can't carry. I just thought it was a good question. I do all I can not to go to places that don't want me to carry.

I'm afraid the Supreme court said that police only have a duty to protect the public and not individuals; you're on your own:
