Reply to "Las Troias (New Mexican Restaurant)"

On my last lunch dining trip to Las Troias, the Fajita's were great and the service was fast and good however I had been contemplating ordering Fried Ice Cream so I did.  I was supremely disappointed when it arrived for it was not anything like the fried ice cream desserts I have had at other Mexican restaurants.  In this case, there was little to no crust on the fried ice cream but it was more just a glob of ice cream with very little cereal crust on the outside and lots of whipped cream and it had little taste to it.

Conversely, and I had not got the craving out of my mind, we ate at Rosies's Cantina, in Florence, after that experience and I tried the Fried Ice cream dessert, at Rosie's, and it was a totally opposite experience.   Rosie's was a wonderful tasting dessert and was enormous in size, enough for two to share.  I'll certainly make another trip to Rosie's just to get another fried Ice Cream desert whereas I'll never order another from Los Troias given my experience there.   I'll stick to the Fajitas which is the best thing I can say that Los Troias does and serves.  I (we) also like the chips and Salsa that Los Troias serves but other than that Rosie's Cantina has them all beat for the best Mexican/Tex-Mex dining experience, hands down.  I still have hope for Los Troias and I hope they succeed but I still think it's going to be more of an uphill battle for them.
