While I doubt that I will vote for a Democratic candidate on a regular basis, it would be foolish for anyone, I say anyone, to announce they will never vote Democratic. The Moore/Jones race is hardly going to be the last where a morally degenerate Republican faces off against an intelligent, upright Democrat.

If a person always votes the party line, can you tell me exactly how he/she is different from a mindless automaton? And if the Republican Party becomes so sure of these mindless followers, what is to stop its members from actions so reprehensible they make Bolsheviks looks tame?

so, you expect Republicans to set up networks of camps and engineer planned famines to exterminate most of the Democrats?

The hypothetical victims might not be Democrats. Moore has indicated he thinks homosexuality should be criminalized. After criminalization comes incarceration, something not uncommon in the U.K. as recently as the 60s. If those of Moore's mindset should come to power, who would be next? Alcoholics? Adulterers? Quite a slipperly slope.

Of course, it's a worse case scenario and it's probably not coming to fruition in our life time...unless. What would happen if the Pacific states did decide to secede? How far would the powers that be in Washington, mainly Republican, go to hold together what was left of the union?

Then, while not related to party line voting, we could throw in the added plot device of Kim actually managing to bomb a U.S. target. That's a much more immediate scenario that could produce bi-lateral excess of power in the name of national security.

Bottom line: No one should vote simply for an "R" or a "D" unless they want to lose freedoms they've taken for granted their entire lives.

There are two examples in US history of people having their land and property seized. Then, relocated hundreds of miles away to camps in desolate lands. In both cases, the offending party was the Democrats.

Citing the Bolsheviki, who slaughtered tens of millions, is, at least, extreme.
