Because people would rather see billions of dollars spent on building a wall instead of funding public schools?  Because people would rather give tax breaks to the 1% and corporations instead of funding public schools?  America first?

reWow, not only is that line getting old it's far too predictable.  Trouble is that with the Tax cuts that have been approved a great number of people in all income groups are seeing benefits and more money so the 1% figure just doesn't wash.  Democrats like Nancy Pelosi calling $1,000.00 crumbs to a household doesn't help either.  In fact, that is a statement that one of the 1%er's would make regarding a $1,000.00 influx into a household budget.  To Nancy Pelosi, $1,000.00 does look like a crumb.   Sorry but too many Americans are already seeing bonuses and raises and more jobs account of the tax cut that the standard Democratic party line isn't going to work anymore.  Also, the funding public schools pitch comes out of hiding every election in almost every precinct of the nation yet as more and more education incentives are approved the situation still remains the same or worsens.  When there are things, such as vouchers and making schools compete against each other for funds then liberals and Teacher's unions raise a stink over it.

As for the Wall that is one issue that Trump will continue to push and be hit on as long as it's not paid for, as he touted, by Mexico but there are plenty of funding ways that Congress has of tapping into money that would normally go to Mexico and thus be making sure they would pay for it.   Congress though is the one that handles the funding and budget and thus blame needs to be put there more than on Trump, in this case.  Still, though you have the media in your corner also trying to pass the false narrative and conceal positives related to Trump's initiatives so you can still fool some of the people but with the benefits of the Tax Cuts getting more and more spread around and actually showing up in people and families paychecks and budgets less and less are going to be buying that story and thus create a huge credibility issue for those still trying to push that the Tax Cuts and Trump's actions are only benefiting the 1% and major cooperations.
