Well that didn't take too long. SEARS in Florence Mall is Closing! According to store employees the store will close sometime in the spring, potentially around April of 2017.
Just like with K-Mart's closing the store will be advertising a certain off up and until the store closes but it's a technique to attempt to clear out their inventory at their own prices. A worker said that their sales and current clearances will be better prices than their advertised %off clearances that will come closer to the actual store closing because those prices that the % clearance discounts will apply to will be the maximum retail prices and not sale prices. I don't know for sure about that but I did see the store closing ahead.
Again from the employees it's just a selected group of Sears stores and not the whole chain but I don't see a selected group of closing to bail out an obviously in danger company. I felt Sear's demise began a while ago but was assured when taken over by the guy who owned K-Mart.
