If he wants to salute he can let go of her hand and salute. Problem solved. When some didn't salute Bill Clinton, then later on they didn't salute Obama and some even turned their backs to him, some of the lefties wanted them disiplined. But as Uandurine posted, they don't have to salute him, or face him.
