The Republicans had the House up to 2007 and split control of the Senate pre-2007 with Dems owning the majority before 2003 except for a few months in 2001 when Jeffords changed affiliation. As I posted, you should link to your claims to show the context of the posts. Even if someone posted it, when the post is shown and you see the person's reason for posting it, it is a lot different than just someone being stubborn. I've long advocated that members of the US Congress be limited as to terms they may serve. I also believe they should be treated like soldiers circa WWII. Make them stay in barracks.
