Have you noticed any changes in the local restaurants you have visited that you can or may can attribute to the economy?

I don't know if the problems we had tonight were due to the fact that we ate in Muscle Shoals rather than Florence (location wise that is for the Restaurant) but it was a very noticeable difference from our last visit to the same restaurant chain.

We decided to eat at Captain D's tonight and first thing we noticed is that the corporation changed their coupons to where you could only get one meal per coupon. This might have been the case all along but visits to the Florence store, before, allowed us to order several of the same meals at the coupon price. The next thing we noticed was that they no longer allow direct substitution of a bread stick for the hushpuppies.. We were told by the girls behind the counter that the breadsticks went up in price and they would no longer allow them to substitute but our last visit to the Florence store a week or so ago allowed the substitution. One more difference we noticed between Florence and Muscle Shoals was in the temp and freshness of the food. The Food at the Shoals location was warm but certainly not hot and the corn was, well, old it seemed.

I doubt we'll be back to the Muscle Shoals location any time in the near future and this trip puts in doubt whether or not the Florence Store may have made some of the same changes due to the economy.

For the money spent (we at at Red Lobster this week for lunch also) Red Lobster is by far a much better bang for the buck given the quality and taste of what we got.
