First Stoner's Pizza disappears while a new pizza place prepares to open up, sadly in the same unfortunate location.  Now Pizza Hut has closed their Florence Blvd location and the building looks as if they are taking it down to the ground.

I inquired from one of the Pizza Hut locations and from what I gather there is no plans to rebuild or relocate the Florence Blvd location.   I haven't heard about the similar building in Muscle Shoals on Woodward.

I remember when Papa John's located here both the Florence location and the Muscle Shoals locations had eat in provisions but now none of those remain and the number of pizza locations where you can dine inside is quite a bit less.

I hear good things about Papa Murphy's but I haven't tried them myself.  I'm one that wants to let someone else cook my pizza.   Also regarding Godfather's where you can still dine in, I thought their old location, that was torn down to make way for Home Depot, was a better building and location and while I have been to the current location their bar leaves much to be desired and the place just isn't very clean or so it seems.

Best eat in locations, for Florence, and I might miss some, are Pie Factory, the Pizza place that is by Fred's on Florence Blvd near the Killen Bridge and also the place up Petersville on cloverdale Road.

I hate that Pizza Hut is leaving Florence !! Maybe "YUM" is moving the Florence Pizza Hut to Shanghai China. Since most investors invest in cities of high GDP, that have a large market, well-developed infrastructure. Lots of Manufacturing workers there who love KFC, who may fall in love w/Pizza Hut. LOL

Papa Murphy's pizza - I am not a fan, the crust is tough, like card board. I'll take Pizza Hut or Pappa Johns any day, every day, over Papa Murphy's Pizza. Maybe I'm being too critical of their crust, but I like what I like and PMurphy is not one of them. I might as well go to the grocery store, buy the boxed pre-made pizza in the fresh section of the deli.

My daughter told me recently that her friend's parents asked her to warn us that Pie Factory had a food rating in the 70s.   I am not sure if it has been reinspected, but that is a scary rating.

Pie Factory (downtown across from Ricatonis and City Hardware restaurants) did get a bad review but I don't know if it was from the Restaurant Cops from one of the local News Stations or if it was from the Board of Health.  Either way it was alarming and should be corrected.  I hate that it takes so long to do a follow-up review cause I want to know if they got right to correcting it.

I think it had to do with storing the vegetables at an incorrect temperature but don't know for sure what all they got hit for.   To me Pie Factory was/is one of the better set down Pizza Restaurants.  I used to like Godfathers but like CiCi's they've gone down and not really keeping up their appearance.
