2nd UPDATE, 6:24 PM: The White House said tonight that President Donald Trump has fired Acting Attorney General Sally Yates after she told DOJ officials not to defend his travel ban. Here is the statement:

The acting Attorney General, Sally Yates, has betrayed the Department of Justice by refusing to enforce a legal order designed to protect the citizens of the United States. This order was approved as to form and legality by the Department of Justice Office of Legal Counsel.

Ms. Yates is an Obama Administration appointee who is weak on borders and very weak on illegal immigration.

It is time to get serious about protecting our country. Calling for tougher vetting for individuals travelling from seven dangerous places is not extreme. It is reasonable and necessary to protect our country.

Tonight, President Trump relieved Ms. Yates of her duties and subsequently named Dana Boente, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, to serve as Acting Attorney General until Senator Jeff Sessions is finally confirmed by the Senate, where he is being wrongly held up by Democrat senators for strictly political reasons.

“I am honored to serve President Trump in this role until Senator Sessions is confirmed. I will defend and enforce the laws of our country to ensure that our people and our nation are protected,” said Dana Boente, Acting Attorney General.

I'm not saying I'm for or against the ban. In the last 20 years has someone from one of those countries committed ant act of terrorism in the US?  How many terrorism experts think this ban will make us safer?

It's not that black and white JT.  Terrorists don't have to physically set off a bomb to be effective.  They can just as easily come here and radicalize the natives who will then set off the bombs, mass shooting, fly airplanes into buildings, etc....

Long term strategy would be to increase the Radical Isamic poplulation in order to affect elections, local first, then national.  Europe is now in trouble because they've let them in unchecked.  It only takes a few generations to fundamentally change a country's doctrines.

While Obama claimed the refugees were well vetted, the reviewers didn't check their social media until a couple of months ago.  Reportedly, what was found didn't agree with what some of the refugees claimed (made allegiance to ISIS).  Trump delayed entry of the refugees until more research could be done.  His authority was the McCarran act of 1952. A number of presidents have done similar, including Obama.  Yates refused to obey an order, without giving the legal reason for doing so.
