To some his words are indispensable but to most others his words are incendiary, racist, and inflammatory. More and more today those on the left, and radical left, are of the opinion that they cannot share a country with the people that disagree with them. Their opinions are that the Declaration of Independence and other founding documents are no longer relevant nor should they be. Worse there seems to be more and more a genuine belief that America is evil and bad, especially, as founded and that it cannot be changed unless it is changed by revolution.
The danger, as I believe it to be, is that much of this liberal leftist indoctrination is done at many of our higher education institutions as well as being reinforced by our own Democratic party today. When you have a large number of people actually having the idea and belief that our nation, as founded, is and was bad and that our founding documents are no longer valid then you are ripe for radical change and that change would be death to freedom as we know it. Another great contributor, in my opinion, is the trending to avoid teaching Civics and American History in our Middle and upper High School levels. We have kids graduating and then headed off to liberal colleges that have no practical knowledge of our founding fathers or the history of our Nation, as founded.
I could be wrong and the number of people that are like Ta-Nehis Coates may be few and diminishing but what appears to be, today, is a growing divide between those on the left and those on the right and those who are being radicalized on both sides is growing. The danger is that those being radicalized on the left, much like Ta-Nehis Coates, believe that the only way to affect change is by the spilling of blood and violence, a great far cry from the message that Martin Luther King had to those who were protesting for change. Also the change that MLK was championing for was the treatment of people and the way that people are seen by their peers but the changes today that are being championed by many of the leaders on the extreme left are to eliminate the founding Documents that our nation is governed by and to create a system, of Government, that punishes those they cite as being responsible for all the evils (that they have determined have happened) that our nation and founders are guilty of. Let us hope reason prevails.
