No, I look up the original to make sure it is correct. Like I said, the truth is very important to me. I don't rely on one translation.

I do follow my heart. Right now it's hurting because I'm afraid my words have hurt you. I have been radically changed by God's work in my life & that is why my foundation is His truth. You don't have to make the same choices as me for me to care about you, okay? I may wish differently for you, but I'll love you just the same no matter what you choose.

Oh save it and forget it.

Yeah, that is the problem with the Bible and people who elect to follow a book instead of their own heart. What do you do - just select the one that has the translation you like the best? It is all a big joke.

Then why do we read any book if we should just follow our hearts? What's the purpose of having text books in school if receiving information from texts is a big joke? The Bible is no different, it's a text book for Christians. Yes, everyone interprets the Bible differently and I think this is a good thing. With rational people, disagreements lead to study and research. Take this forum for example, how many times have you looked up something on line to check someone's facts or prove your own point? Yes, parts of the Bible are easy to interpret differently. I believe that God did this purposely to stimulate debate.

I don't need a church or preacher to explain my faith to me. I haven't found a church I like and it's been a while since I've been to one. Yet, I read the Bible on my own, I use my brain and follow my heart for my own faith. That is anything but a "big joke".

Please keep in mind that you brought this up, logical, when you said "God understands his creation because he made it. Being gay is not a choice."

1 Corinthians 6:9-11
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."

1 Timothy 1:9-10
"the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine"

The word "homosexuality" is "ajrsenokoivth", from the Greek the meaning is " one who lies with a male as with a female, sodomite, homosexual".

Those are two examples, but there are plenty of others. If you do not believe God's Word is truth, that's your choice. But if you do believe it is truth, please understand that God is very straightforward on this subject.

Does this mean that God's cool with lesbians? Wink

Exactly. I agree with you on all counts except that I personally don't find the Bible necessary. I also consider myself a person with fairly good intelligence (I have two college degrees for what that is worth). I know in my heart that I am a good person. I strive to help others and do all I can for my fellow man. I've had to deal with insults from people all my life either telling me that I'm going to hell (which I don't believe in) or that I am mentally deficient. And it probably won't change much, especially living in this area of the country. Maybe it makes me a stronger person. Maybe it makes me an angrier person. I am through with the subject!

Actually, no...

Thankfully, the majority of Americans aren't much like you. In fact, it may surprise you to know that, in most cases, you are the exception and not the rule. The normative efforts of an anomaly are amusing, nonetheless.
Getting back to the main question, There is no way in **** I would abort a child of mine if it was not the "sex" I wanted it to be. I also would not abort it if I knew he or she was going to be gay. I would love it no matter what. I also would not abort it if I knew it had a medical defect, I would love it and take care of it the best I could. But, This is what I would do in MY situation.
