I would have shared this on the "Whatcha readin'?" thread in Entertainment, but didn't want to change the content of the thread & this comment might do that.
A very interesting thing happened as I was reading "First Family" by David Baldacci. As the First Lady (President's wife) was being introduced, she was standing with her back to the reader, so to speak.
He starts by describing her dark hair pulled back at the nape of her neck. I was almost startled to realize that I was picturing her with black skin. Do you know how amazing that is?
Forget what you may think of our current president's politics for a moment & think about the beauty of that...very very cool.
