WASHINGTON - The seven Republicans in Alabama's congressional delegation - and even one of the Democrats - had voting records last year in strong support of President Bush, according to a new analysis.

For the votes on which Bush took a position, GOP senators and House members from Alabama voted with him at least 83 percent of the time, according to CQ Weekly, a Capitol Hill publication that analyzed the 2006 votes by all 535 members of Congress.

On the Senate side, Sens. Richard Shelby and Jeff Sessions cast votes that supported Bush 86 percent and 91 percent of the time, respectively - above average for all Senate Republicans.

As much as I hate to say it, the majority of people that read this forum will most likely say yes. I vote against everyone of the people you listed. I'm more libertarian than democrat, but, of course, I didn't see any libertarian choices on the Alabama ballots. Democrats are definitely the lesser of two evils, and the more progressive, forward-minded of the big two parties, however.

Well, you got to remember your democrats in the south are not like the democrats in the blue states. the democrats in the south are bluedog or yellow dog and lean toward the far right ony to be the republican lite, thats why Cramer still has a job.
