WOW, I just nominated you for the most delusional person of 2014.  You are a sure win, smart money is on YOU buddy.  Thanks for proving me right, you have shown without a shadow of a doubt, you can't disprove anything I've said.

hoob, i gave you an entire website that disproves your entire post.

more proof that: you can lead a rt. wingnut to facts, but you can't make them think.

or in simple terms, just for you, "low information voters" will always vote the party line. republicans count on it!

Not only did you not give a website, you disproved nothing I've posted.

Yeah, these people are tickled pick about BO care:

“But what we will do is, we’ll have the [Obamacare] negotiations televised on  C-SPAN … .” — Barack Obama, August 2008

We all know how this turned out.

“I will not sign a [health care] plan that adds one dime to our deficits.” — Barack Obama, September 2009

The president originally claimed Obamacare would reduce the deficit by $100  billion in the first decade. Aiding and abetting this lie was Health and Human  Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius,  who buried her own report that showed Obamacare would cost $400 billion more  than promised in the first decade. It gets worse. The Government Accountability  Office’s long-term projection reveals Obamacare raises the deficit over $1  trillion.

“If you like your plan, you can keep it.” — Barack Obama, June 2010

Already, 5 million Americans have lost their health insurance plans directly  because of the president’s law.

I can just keep posting the above FACTS.  If you continue voting dim with full knowledge of the above, you are truly a low information voter.

The woman that wrote the open letter to the President has been working with a friend of mine that is a healthcare advocate. She has gotten all her issues worked out and will be saving over 2000 a year with her new coverage. The insurance they had before pales in comparison to what they will now have.

Of course the right wing blogs will never report the final outcome of this family. They will continue to parade her original letter around as proof that the ACA "is not" working. The truth is that the ACA is doing great. The website and the roll out most definitely had its problems.

Alabama will be once again left behind and the people will suffer because of the state politicians that care more about lining their pockets and those of their business buddies than what is best for all citizens.

Hoob, you are being hoodwinked and you are enabling them to continue their destruction of our state. We rank 49th! 49th in job growth and job opportunity. The Republicans have a super-majority in this state. So you tell me, how are we benefiting from having Republicans running the show?

This list shows Bama at a different ranking:  http://economistsoutlook.blogs...te-job-growth-rates/

Discounting the states that have boomed with natural gas fracking, there's not much difference between the top and the bottom in terms of job growth.

So which is it?  One lib says job growth is horrible here in Bama and another says times are a booming (especially for welders) and it feels like the pervert Clinton is back in office.  Ya'll put your heads together and see if you can get your story straight.

This posting has gone from complaining about both the Republicans and democrats in Alabama state politics to the sins of O'Bamacare.   My take on it:

O'Bamacare is just for 15% of the population, however it's stuck in the minds of everyone 24/7.  It essentially doesn't affect 80% of you getting insurance through your employers.   Be glad for what you've got.

Yes, there are vast areas of this state called "The Black Belt"--south of Birmingham from Miss. to Georgia and from Tuscaloosa to Mobile--totally without jobs.  Most influential politicians have moved all the jobs to "their" parts of the state.  Always been that way, and always will be that way.

The people of Alabama have spoken of their desire for low property taxes, and their politicians have listened.  TN, GA, NC, SC, FL and many other states in The South have property taxes appoaching 4 times that of Alabama.  With low property taxes comes crap schools. Had the state had more revenue, they could afford to get into Medicaid expansion.  At least the politicians have listened to their constituents on taxation.  Alabama voters want less government, more efficient spending and low taxes--which in return brings more jobs to the state.

I don't think lavish spending on schools create better students.  If the parents aren't involved and engaged with their child's learning, the output is going to be poor quality in the end for most.  My kids go to a very old school but they get a great education because the parents are very involved.

I am among those who have a problem for paying taxes on property I own. I see no reason why I should have to pay anyone anything for property that I own and tend myself.  In some states, property tax is so high that most people will never be able to afford their own place if they have to pay a mortgage.    A friend of mine in Houston, TX lost his house due to a huge increase in his school district's property tax.  These taxes kill the American dream.

Yeah, 47th is much better than 49th.  And yes, there is a huge difference in over 3% job growth and 0.5% job growth. So you are saying you are satisfied with the way our state is being run? Happy to be near the bottom of every economic study?

Oh yeah, where are they? We have been hearing this for quite a while now and it doesn't seem to be panning out. We may pay lower property taxes but we pay state income tax where some of the states you mentioned do not. Some states do not tax groceries. We do. It all evens out in the end. However we get a lot less for our taxes than those states. The Medicaid expansion would not have cost the state a dime, and has been shown to actually make the state money. The ACA doesn't actually effect me. I have insurance through my husbands employer. Doesn't mean I don't care about those that aren't as fortunate.

Can't speak to the percentage of them being ex ACORN's, but they have infiltrated the ACA.  Apparently, it takes criminals to promote this program.

Six of the top ten states are red states.  And discounting the fracking states, like I originally said, that equals around 2%, not 3%.  Not a huge difference in job growth.  Let me try to put it in simple terms:  I've got 10 friends and we've been ranked by height.  I rank #10.  By your logic, that means I'm short.  However, I'm 6'2" and all my friends are between 6'3" to 6'5".  You can't just look at the ranking, you have to look deeper at the actual subject matter.

I'm MUCH more satisfied with the way our state is being ran compared to the last democrat debacle known as the Siegelman years.  He left us so deep in the red I didn't think we'd ever come back from it.  Don't forget what democratic rule did to Jefferson County either.  Seems like dems have a week spot for bribery and backroom deals.

By the way, when is Don getting out of prison?

ACORN was stripped of federal funding in 2009: the organization was promoting tax evasion, underage human trafficking, underage prostitution, voter fraud and more.

If that doesn't send chills up your spine that they are now promoting the ACA, then you have no soul.

New jobs?  How about Honda in Lincoln, Thyssen Krupp in Mobile, Mercedes in Vance, North American Lighting, U.S. Army @ Redstone ****nal?  And many other places.  The biggest problem that many of our factories are not paying really good living wages.

State Income Taxes?  There are many people paying little--like those with government pensions, social security wages, defined pensions.  I pay almost nothing for AL income taxes.  TN has high sales taxes too--and no state income tax for income derived within the state.

Medicaid expansion wouldn't cost anything the first 3 years.  But Medicaid would bankrupt the state after that, and the politicians know it.  We're already operating at a deficit--borrowing from Peter to pay Paul.  And the money's not going to be there in 3 years, either.

In Memphis, my daughter pays $4500 sales taxes on a $200K house.  My close friend pays $8500.  My sister pays over $13K.  And the city's broke and cannot pay pensions.  In Nashville, a tiny 2 bedroom asbestos shingle house will have taxes 150%+ of a $200K house here--well over $1K.  And schools in Memphis and Nashville are beyond terrible.
