Their $2.99 coffee taste as good as Starbucks.

hmm...if this is true i may have to try it. However, when you say tastes as good, do you mean you enjoy it as much as Starbucks? or it actually has that Starbucks aroma? i'm quite the coffee drinker and the only coffee i have found similar in aroma is the new Wolfgang Puck coffee, and it's still 6 dollars a bag where as Starbucks is nearly 8. so if i could get that aroma for 3 dollars that would be a steal.

Our Philosophy: “Incredible Value Every Day.”
To millions of consumers around the world, ALDI is simply the smartest way to buy groceries.

ALDI entered the U.S. market in 1976, with a handful of stores in southeastern Iowa. Now, over 1,000 U.S. ALDI stores are spreading the savings from Kansas to the East Coast. In its 2008 report, Supermarket News ranked ALDI 25th in U.S. grocery chains in terms of gross sales—a considerable accomplishment given our select assortment and low prices.

At ALDI, our philosophy is also the foundation for our less-is-more approach to grocery retailing. Everything we do, from selecting suppliers to scouting locations to building and operating stores, facilitates savings substantial enough to impact your every-day living.

We concentrate purchasing power, carrying only 1,400 or so of your most frequently purchased grocery and household items, of which nearly all are ALDI select brands. As a result, we get the lowest prices from our suppliers—and pass the savings on to you.

We streamline operations, eliminating every feature that increases cost—and prices. (See the Shopping Smarter section for details.) When you shop at ALDI, you pay for food—not frills.

We adhere to stringent quality standards. Every product we sell must match or exceed the leading national brand in taste, appearance, and/or performance. Our premium produce is shipped faster and smarter, so it comes to your table fresher and cheaper. We’re so sure of the quality of what we sell that we back it with our exclusive Double Guarantee. So you can always shop ALDI with confidence.

These practices unique to ALDI add up to big savings for our customers. In fact, our everyday low prices are usually lower than supermarket “sale” prices. And that’s “Incredible Value Every Day.”

The frozen Belgian cream puffs and the German coffee cake are great. The cake is cream, layer of coffee, layer of chocolate, etc. The ravioli is very good, also, as is the "Entenmann's" not really Entenmann's of course, coffee cake. The pasta sauce is good, and the Pilsner is fantastic beer, less than a dollar a bottle and from Saxony and follows the German Beer Purity Law. I would say it is as good as Spaten.
They have a type of breaded frozen chicken patties that is great... you can fry, bake or microwave them. They come in bags of about 10 (give or take 1 or 2) and cost just $4 a bag. I buy 2 or 3 bags when I can. Great for quick breakfast and my daughter loves chicken, so I will sometimes put one in the microwave for her in the mornings.
I went back last night for some of the things I read about on here. I got chips and they are really good. I also bought a delicious danish and some pretzel sticks that we all loved.
Thanks to all of you because I would have never tried all of these things had I not read about them here. I had a cart almost full and spent under $46.00. I also bought the laundry detergent but have not used it yet. I'm anxious to see if it is any good.

We usually don't bother with sacks. Just take basket out to car, and empty into laundry basket or whatever. Sometimes we have plastic bags in trunk of car to put canned items in.

Oh did I mention their popsicles & ice cream

That is so sad that you have to live out of a car. You should go to the Salvation Army.

Are you crazy? I was only saying that if one forgot to bring their bags there was an alternative. I believe this topic was Aldis and not jumping to conclusions about where anyone lives! Good Grief.

What the heck? Where did that come from???
It's so sad that Mrpepper obviously lives underneath a rock and just crawled out to make that comment.
I went in there for the first time today. I didn't think I would ever find a place more white trash than walmart. Nothing but generic items packed awkwardly in old boxes. Several food items had nothing but spanish on them. I saw no employees on the floor. Only 1 register was open. Pallet jacks and rocket carts were all over the place. How is this place even open? It's a joke.

Well, I guess that means that I am part of the trash because I like Aldi's quite a bit. The quality of there items is excellent and their prices are too. And judging by the number of customers I see there, quite a few folks seem to agree.

It's the quality of an item that matters, not the brand on the label.

Tell it Yankeegramma!!! I'm with you, if I can get good quality merchandise at an affordable price, I don't care if the food is displayed on pallets. And I've been in the store plenty of times when there was only one register open but the line moves fast because the cashier doesn't waste time bagging groceries as they go along.

I went to Aldi's Tuesday. I bought tri-colored pepper packs for $1, celery for 99 cents, bananas for 39 cents per lb., and red onions for 75 cents per lb. Feta and blue cheese for $2.99 per carton. ( I have not tried.) If Aldi's is a joke,I laughed all the way to the bank!

Pray tell where we can shop in this town that isn't white trash?
