A prisoner sharing a police transport van with Freddie Gray told investigators that he could hear Gray “banging against the walls” of the vehicle and believed that he “was intentionally trying to injure himself,” according to a police document obtained by The Washington Post.

The prisoner, who is currently in jail, was separated from Gray by a metal partition and could not see him. His statement is contained in an application for a search warrant, which is sealed by the court. The Post was given the document under the condition that the prisoner not be named because the person who provided it feared for the inmate’s safety.

I'm guessing the sign was made by a range officer.

There are some young deep conservative activists with nasty, but ingenious ideas.  One was the button passed out to lefties during a demonstration "Save a whale, harpoon a fetus."  I expect to see T-shirts with bulls-eyes passed out or sold as thanking Target for their transgendered policies.

"Be a hero, save a whale. Save a baby, go to jail."

Wouldn't surprise me if the prosecutor Marilyn Mosby wasn't charged for "abuse of process" whereby there is  the existence of an ulterior purpose or motive underlying the use of process.**

Word is Nero's though he was found "not guilty" by a black judge, his re-instatement as a BPD LEO is being withheld by Baltimore's black mayor and black chief pending the outcome of the other 5 trials.

Sue their racist asses off, Nero.

I believe from what the lawyer talking heads on the TV have said, that it was the responsibility of the paddy wagon driver to belt in the prisoner. I also believe that some of those heads say that the mandatory rule to belt prisoners was only created a few days before the arrest and there is no evidence that the officers including the driver had even been briefed on the new rule. Lots of luck getting a conviction on anything even without the over charging.

The policy was three days old  It was not Nero's duty to strap Grey in.  Nor, had he been informed of the policy.
