His ‘Profound’ Response Moves Her To Tears

Just when you thought the “Cecil the lion” hysterics could not get any more ridiculous, an animal psychic from Washington steps up to the plate and proves you wrong.

Karen Anderson, who advertises herself as an “animal communicator” and “psychic medium,”  announced on Facebook that the great beast has communicated with her from beyond the grave.

___________

I personally heard from Cecil and he just wanted to let us know that the nine lives stuff is bs.

If we could talk to the animal's . .

If we could talk to the animals,
Just imagine it,

Chatting to a chimp in chimpanzee
Imagine talking to a tiger,
Chatting to a cheetah
What a neat achievement it would be

If we could talk to the animals,
Learn their languages,
Maybe take an animal degree,
We’d study elephant and eagle,
Buffalo and beagle,
Alligator, guinea pig and flea

We would converse in polar bear
And python
And we would curse in fluent kangaroo
If people asked us,
Can you speak rhinoceros?
We’d say, "of courseros!
Can’t you?"

If we conferred with our furry friends,
Man to animal,
Think of all the things we could discuss
If we could walk with the animals
Talk with the animals
Grunt and squeak and squawk
With the animals
And they could squeak and squawk
And speak and talk to us

If people asked us,
Can you speak rhinoceros?
We’d say, "of courseros!
Can’t you

If we conferred with our furry friends,
Man to animal,
Think of all the things we could discuss
If we could walk with the animals
Talk with the animals
Grunt and squeak and squawk
With the animals
And they could squeak and squawk
And speak and talk to us.

On March 3 of this year, before most people had ever heard anything at all about Cecil the Lion, this self-admitted liberal web site published the following entry concerning Robert Mugabe's lavish birthday party, along with a considerable body of other information concerning the hunting of African wildlife. The  "enviro sob sisters," it would seem, had concerns.  The article, which addresses a wide range of issues involving endangerment of wildlife in Africa and elsewhere, includes this sentence:

"While wildlife poaching and trafficking is a $15 to $20-billion-a-year global industry with supply and demand spread across the world, Africa and East Asia are two of the hotbeds: They are both blessed with a unique diversity of species and burdened with corruption and weak governance."

Think Progress did not need prompting by the controversial killing of Cecil the Lion. They have long been on top of the serious issues of poaching and trafficking in endangered wildlife.  Their analyses run deeper than the kind of ignorant anecdotal and episodically driven sniping that typifies so much of the right wing's railing on environmental topics.

So, Mugabe's birthday was a cause celebre amongst a few hundreds of Gaia worshipers.Certainly no global response like that of the death of Cecil.  Nor, has there been much concern globally about Mugabe turning a rich, food exporting nation into a poor, inflation ridden hell hole.  Until recently, one paid about one hundred trillion Zimbabwean dollars for a cup of coffee (and you think Starbucks was over priced).

Your lament was that the "enviro sob sisters" had not weighed in on the matter of Mugabe's birthday excesses.  Your complaint was about the lack of  concern from those environmentalists about the birthday excesses of Robert Mugabe.  I showed you just one example of the awareness and publicly-expressed criticism of this matter from an unarguably liberal, pro-environmentalist source. There are numerous other media sources and environmental organizations that have weighed in on this issue with more intelligence and broader concerns than the plight of Cecil the lion.  That obscene birthday party got plenty of national and international attention, as you could have learned had you done little homework.  The Cecil the Lion story was one of those irresistible human interest stories that will capture the public interest for a short time. The ongoing excesses of Robert Mugabe (failed land reform program, imprisonment and murder of his personal enemies, crooked elections, etc)  have been widely reported and criticized for years.

Contenduhh,  You really don’t get it, do you.  Man shoots a lion, possibly illegal, (certainly not fair chase) and the social media practically crucifies him.  PETA calls for him to be hung.  (PETA officials would be festooned on trees and lamp posts throughout the nation if illegal killing of animals were punished in such a manner – strange fruit, indeed!)

Here and there, enviros, within their own small cliques, may have been appalled about Mugabe, but certainly not with the intensity against one hapless dentist.

It is YOU who don't "get it," dire. Your claim addressed the supposed unconcern of "enviro sob sisters" (your caustic term of reference for the environmental community). Your frame of reference as to that comment was NOT to the killing of Cecil the lion, but to the alleged low level of concern by environmentalists concerning the profligate killing of game animals for Mugabe's birthday bash. I showed you that, contrary to your assertions, the environmental community and many media sources were very outspoken about that disgusting soiree and related matters concerning illegal trafficking in wildlife.  I have no respect for PETA and its archly extreme take on this or on many other matters and the majority of environmentalist and environmental organizations have little or no use for PETA's extremism, one reason being that the extreme positions of that organization are often falsely alleged by anti-environmentalists as representative of the environmental community at large, which they most certainly are not.

You complained about the lack of a "global response" to Mugabe's birthday fest. I invite you to browse this list of references to media accounts , domestic and international, and re-evaluate your assertion.

PRESIDENT 'BABA' ROBERT MUGABE PLANS TO CELEBRATE 91st BIRTHDAY WITH ...

Contenduhh,

I’ve seen that picture and more, plus read a number of articles about the so called celebration, Obviously, his mother neglected table manners.  Again, most of the information appeared in low density publications.

A blessing and a curse of being an old conservative is memory of the blatant left wing prevarications.  In the late 60s and early 70s, Mugabe was touted as a great freedom fighter and, a Methodist archbishop, to boot.  Like most of his ilk, he was just another thuggist Big Man with a communist glaze.

dire, trying to seem confident:

________

"Low density publications"? Like the Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Reuters, London Daily Mail, Fox News, Times of India, and Christian Science Monitor, all of which had stories of Mugabe's birthday carnivory.  You can't dismiss the widespread national and international coverage of this story by just wishing it away, dire.

Actually you have adopted some personal criterion for defining the extent of media coverage of Mugabe's birthday bash.  Thus, no matter how many times you are shown that there was, unarguably,  substantial national and international media coverage of this matter, you will continue to ASSert that there was not enough.  That is your strategy for denying that you were wrong about this in the first place, but that dog won't hunt, dire, and you know it and I know it.  I will comment no further, since all that needs to be said has now been said, along with a not inconsiderable amount of that which could well have gone without saying.

Driving cross country years ago listening to late night / early morning nutball radio show, I heard an animal psychic. She was asked whether we would see our pets on the "other side". She told the caller that she had good news and bad news. We would indeed be reunited with our pets after we died. The bad news was that we would also be reunited with every animal that we ever consumed. I laughed so hard that I very nearly lost control and wrecked.
