I wouldn't complain if only the city would do something about the FLOW of traffic. You can do down Hwy. 72 in Huntsville and go through numerous lights without having to stop. Here you're lucky if you make two in a row. There is no rhyme nor reason given to the thought of traffic flow in Florence and it sucks!
Bad traffic flow may be the experience that you and others are having.

However I did read some articles in the past from the Times Daily that said the city had set the timing of the lights on Florence Blvd so as to ensure that they were all working together so as to ensure an all green experience from light to light when the lights turned green.

I would assume that it gets tweaked regularly and with the construction at Helton they may have changed the pattern.

Like you, I like some of the lights in all our towns to allow traffic from side streets to get out on the busier ones...

But sometimes, well oftentimes they just are not studied as well as they should be, and sometimes they are just a nightmare.

The traffic lights on Wilson Dam Road/2nd Street and Wilson Dam Road/Avalon are the most ridiculous lights we have in this whole area... they are not automated, and if you dont get there at the right time, you SIT forever.

And the one going south on 2nd streed by the Trailer Park is also RIDICULOUS!!!! They spent a LOT of taxpayers money to put a left turn light there... because there is SO much traffic turning left there... but do you think they EVER activate it? NOPE, and during certain times of the day, the traffic that backs up is a nightmare. The oncoming traffic can sit there 15 seconds to allow a few cars to turn left, but NOOOOOO, they keep it inactive all the blame time.... sore spot with a LOT of us going that direction from work and trying to get into the residential area's.
