Not along the same subject as the other Hot Dog topic it did remind me how often having a great Hot Dog is.  I can remember a small hole in the wall bar in Myrtle Beach that had one of the best Hot Dogs that I have had but for a really good Hot Dog here in the Shoals one has not to look any farther than Sam's Club.

I know it sounds crazy but the small deli in Sam's Club, which by the way (I believe) open to anyone members and non-member's, has one of the tastiest Hot Dogs in the Shoals area.  It's a large (Nathan's brand) Hot Dog not quite a foot long but certainly bun length and a very fat Hot Dog.  Additionally it has to be one of the best food values found in the area.  I believe it's $1.79 for a Hot Dog and large drink and that's not bad.

So if you're in the area and want a very good Hot Dog for not a lot of money then give Sam's Club's Hot Dog a try.

No Bud this place was on the right in an older strip mall type store front as you headed to the North end of the beach.  It was well past the Bowery I believe.  They didn't have place for music but it was more a bar than a restaurant although with the booths and stools at the bar it was almost 50/50 bar/restaurant/diner type place.  The place was no more than about 15 ft wide through the area where you walked in from the front and I can't remember the name but just that they had some really great Hot Dogs there.

I also thought that, locally speaking, the Orange Julius when it was in the Florence Mall had some good Chili cheese Dogs.  When I go to the Store I've tried to find Hot Dogs that were the same Nathan's that Sam's Club, here, uses but can't find the same ones.    I used to always buy Hebrew National in the store but since Ball Park Franks have come out with the Angus Beef Hot Dogs those have been my preferred store bought Hot Dogs.

Regarding the ones that Sam's Club serves in their deli they said that you can only buy them in bulk and from the deli.  They don't even sell them back in the freezer section and frankly for just the wife and I it doesn't make sense to purchase that many when it's just as easy and economical to run down to Sam's Club whenever we get a hankering (taste) for a Hot Dog.
