I've always wondered how in the heck people claim the democRat party is the "Party of the Working Man" when they seem bound and determined to put people out of work. I know democRat administrations are hell on the industry I am in, and a really stupid policy decision by Barry Sortero caused a bunch of my fellow coworkers to lose their job. So I was just wondering, are there any Industries that do better under democRats? The makers of foodstamp cards doesn't count.

Your chart left off a few presidents as well.

On March 4, 1921, President Woodrow Wilson relinquished the office of the presidency to Ohio Senator Warren G. Harding. The state of the union was poor. "With the exception of Lincoln, probably no president in our national history has taken office with as pressing a burden of unresolved questions." Those were the words of the Nation of February 1921. The national economy was in the depths of a depression with an unemployment rate of 20% after a runaway inflation.

On April 12,1921, President Harding went before a contentious Congress and presented his program for economic recovery which he called "A Return to Normalcy". Harding's normalcy program consisted of the following measures.

1) A call for a national budget program (which was vetoed by his predecessor).
2) National debt reduction
3) Tax reduction
4) An emergency tariff to protect American industry and farm commodities.
5) Farm relief legislation (farm bankruptcies were up 20% from 1914).
6) Immigration restrictions to protect American jobs.

President Harding pushed hard for his program and got it passed by Congress in 1921. By late 1922, the economy began to turn around. Harding did not live to see it, but his normalcy program proved to be the foundation that Coolidge prosperity was built on. Harding's successor, Calvin Coolidge had the wisdom to stay the course and build on Harding's program. The American people were the beneficiaries of the unprecedented prosperity of the 1920's. Unemployment was pared from its high in 1921 of 20% to an average of 3.3% for the remainder of the decade. The misery index which is a combination of unemployment and inflation had its sharpest decline in U.S. history under President Harding. The Gross National Product averaged 7% from 1924 to 1929. Wages, profits, and productivity all made substantial gains during the 1920's. Harding slashed federal spending by two billion from Wilson's last year and Coolidge maintained that spending level of 3.3 billion per year for the rest of the decade. The Harding-Coolidge tax cuts produced increased revenue that went to cut the national debt left by Wilson by one-third.

The path to prosperity is found by electing Dems.

Sorry son, I wasn't asking for bullspit charts- just real life experiences. See, when Bush was President, nobody at my company was laid off, and I was working 80 hrs a week. With the current Bastard in Chief, many of my friends were laid off because cash for clunkers was more inportant that developing nuclear energy, and I am lucky to get 40 hrs. a week. So I use your pretty little graph for toilet paper, just like Obozo's book.

Since you like taxes so much, I'd be willing to bet you pay none.Sell your bullspit to someone else.

You get a job in private industry instead of being a government-funded employee. The USA will not be starting any nuclear power projects without loan guarantees from the fedgov.

Unfortunately spark plug, you don't get to tell me where to work hot rod.You are a liberal, so your opinion is worthless. If I wanted to hear the level of intelligence that liberals put forth, I'd pass gas.

Hi Mad,

You ask, "Are there any Industries that Benefit Under DemocRat administrations?"

I can think of few:

1. That abortion industry.

2. The Mosque construction business

3. The moving industry, i.e., as in companies moving their operations OUT of America.

4. The Border Greeting industry -- to greet illegals and welcome them to the land of Free, i.e., free welfare, free medical, free education, free from income tax, free from needing drivers licenses and auto insurance to drive, etc.

Do you need more?

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Abortions are mostly cash transactions, so the economic downturn has been very bad for business.

Illegal, and legal, Mexicans are going home in record numbers because of the Depression, so you can give credit for helping the illegal immigration fight to BushIIe.

Mosque construction is funded mostly by convenience store owners, so every gallon of gas you buy is helping buy prayer mats for little Muslims.
good things the current democratic majority have done. passed the financial regulations bill which finally makes wall street firms and banks accountable for the mess they created and ensure there will be no more bailouts like the TARP bill past under president bush. passed the lilly ledbetter act ensuring equal pay for women.increased the size of pell grant awards to make college more affordable for middle class kids. approved the first nuclear reactor since 1978 that will provide thousands of workers jobs. these are only a few.
hey preacher man bill. back up your post with facts not hateful remarks and pure lies. i bet you cheneys haliburton would build it. prove to me democrats are in the business of building mosque. what did george do to close the border? the mess we are in did not just start, we have been this way for quit a while. the only differance i see is more and more HATE in this old world.

anyone that agrees with bill is hopeless also. hey i do not like obama and will not vote for him. but i don't like to see crap like bill post calling anyone names republican or democrat. i am glad everyone don't see eye to eye on stuff. it would be a boring world. bill claims to be so holy but his words speak otherwise. I just hope we have some better choices than we have had in past.
