I need help. Can anyone find an article that was in the TimesDaily sometime Dec. 23, 24, or 25. I believe it was Dec.23. The article was about pharmacist in Florence notifying the police that some people were trying to buy over the limit on products containing pseudoephedrine. Two were arrested, the woman as she left the pharmacy. Thanks for your help.

searched the internet 'times daily pharmacy pseudoephedrine' and go this
From the story
"Drug task force officials say they have received numerous calls from pharmacists and pharmacy technicians regarding suspicious attempting to purchase excessive amounts of pseudoephedrine."

To me, the key word is "excessive". I suspect that was much more than three or four regular-sized boxes.
I was at the drug store here the other day when two police arrived. It seems they had someone come in and shoplifted a bunch of cold medication. I thought they had it behind the counter but I guess they have smaller packaging still in the isles.

I guess its getting harder to get the stuff and they are getting more brazen.
I thought everyone had this stuff behind the counter, by law. I have a lot of trouble with my sinuses and sinus headaches. Often I'm in Walmart after pharmacy hours, desperately trying to find something that will help. If the pharmacy is closed, the selection is just about cut in half since so much of it is behind the counter. When I do decide to try the 'restricted' stuff, I feel like a criminal having to show my drivers' license. I am not against their having this policy, but something about it just makes me feel like they think I'm a criminal. She asked me, "Have you bought this here before?" I honestly didn't remember because I have tried everything a few times, and probably have forgotten what I've tried over the years. So when she asked me, I was afraid I'd answer wrong. All I stinking wanted was a little three dollar package of store brand decongestant.

Anyway, I'm not complaining about the law because I am willing to help stop meth manufacturing by showing my ID. Because of how I am, though, the law does affect my buying choices.

Maybe they should provide some sort of psychoanalysis for people who are having to ask for their decongestants??

I may have told y'all this before. In addition to bad sinuses, I have a bad memory.

I was behind a couple in Walmart before the stuff was put behind the counter. Back then, the registers would limit the customers to a certain number of packages. So, the couple ahead of me and quite a few packages of one of these meds. The register wouldn't let them buy it all. The whole thing degenerated from there and the cashier ended up asking them what they wanted that much for anyway. The woman said, "Everyone in my family has allergies and y'all have this ON SALE. This is a really good price. If there is a limit, why put it on sale and list it in your circular?"

so, I know the cashiers are glad that this is taken care of in the pharmacy now. The lady did have a point, though. Seems like a waste of ad space to me.
I had to buy some last week for my brother and had to swipe my driver's license. So this week, when I needed it -- the pharmacy told me I couldn't buy it because it hadn't been long enough between what I purchased and now. When I explained the situation he apologized. Needless to say, mom to the rescue...You must commend the pharmacists for starting to do more to help stop the meth problem in our area...along with the DTF...
