Auto Accident near Central

Has anyone heard anything about the fatal accident that happened on Highway 20 near Central late last night? I saw it on WHNT this morning, but they were sketchy on the details. They said it was another collision with an 18 Wheeler.

I saw it on the news this morning also. I haven't heard anything else. Maybe some of our forum friends have heard something.

More news is up on the TD front webpage. This man lived in his Jeep in the parking lot of Dollar General in Central. Several people would take him food - he had two dogs that stayed with him. They were with him at the time of the accident, but were not injured. Very sad situation.

What the crap is going on around here? These trucks are BIG. Do they now have targets painted on them? It's almost as if some strange force is causing bad things to happen. I don't mean to be disrespectful to any of the victims, but this is just getting strange.

I agree with your post. It just is quite an eye opener to see three almost identical accidents so close in time and distance. Regardless, let me extend my most sincere sympathies to the families. My prayers are with you.

Such a sad event. I never knew he was homeless. Does anyone know who is taking care of the dogs? Were they taken to the shelter?

Until I read today's story about this, I had thought he was killed while sleeping in his car. I was trying to figure out why the truck went into the parking lot and hit him.

It sounds like people around Waterloo and Central sort of looked out for him.
