Bentley divorce settlement has been unsealed and opened to the public for review.

It was reported in August that  Alabama Governor Robert Bentley engaged in an extramarital affair with his former communications director,  Rebekah Caldwell Mason, leading First Lady Dianne Bentley to file for divorce after 50 years of marriage.

Be interesting to see if he ends up marrying his mistress.

“Governor Bentley agreed with his ex-wife on topics such as age, residence, and having children, but he "denies each and every other allegation contained in said Complaint."

Well, Mr. Clean, for one thing the "dirt" might disclose some travel expenses for the Gov's inamorata that were paid for by the state and that were not necessary except for the Gov's desire to have his new young main squeeze with him.  Just sayin'..

Why would that be in their divorce records?  More likely, one should examine the executive branch's travel and per diem expenses.

Yes if someone was motivated to examine those travel and per diem records with a view to determining whether such abuse as I speculated upon had indeed occurred.  But if the divorce records contained specific allegations of assignations at out-of-town locations, that could give the travel/per diem monitors a clue they might not have gotten from elsewhere.

Travel records should be open to inspection per Alabama law.  Should be easy for any reporter to request copies.

Yes, but we are dealing with reporters and reporters are looking for the juicy stuff!

Do you believe he should've given up only half and given that half to the ex..??

The poor quality on that document is not a  printer thing.  It obviously was scanned

and it is not unusual for such reproduction to be a bit fuzzy.  Tonka scanner, maybe? In any case, it was quite legible.

You are now free to make more meaningless and inchoate comments of the kind you typically blither.

Are you sure it was due to infidelity or this just something you heard? Even if it was due to infidelity it isn't anyone's business but the Bentleys.

It does not appear that ALL the records were unsealed.  The settlement agreement that was unsealed is but one document in the case.  I do not see where Diane Bentley's petition for divorce was unsealed. That is where she would describe the basis for seeking the divorce, including such scandalous behavior, if any, on the part of her husband, that she decided to include.

Did you not notice, oh smug one,  that in the settlement document, the Governor "denies each and every other allegation contained in said Complaint?"  That "complaint" is where salacious material, if any, would be included and the complaint evidently has not been made public or that would have been reported in the media.

____

Thank you. I am not disappointed.  But the absence of salacious or scandalous content does not mean that there was not something raunchy going on.  It would well mean that Mrs. B. decided not to air the dirty linen. We know only the scandalous stuff that the media are reporting and that  the Gov has not denied.

Odd you couldn't find that out for yourself.  Your last two post sound as if the two of you are in conflict.

So what's next for y'all now that legitimate means of prying into their private lives are running dry?

I shall tunnel under the office of Ms. Bentley's attorney, jackhammer  through the floor slab, and and ransack the place until I find the raunchy stuff.

Tell that to the Clinton haters, who militantly claimed that Bill Clinton's infidelity was a powerful indicator of his untrustworthiness in marriage and went on to assert that such untrustworthiness also made him unfit for the presidency.
