Vermont was long New Hampshire's evil twin.  When she separated, they considered independence, joining Canada or staying with the US.  Unfortunately, they made the third choice. However, having nothing against Canucks, I would not wish Vermont upon them/  The mass influx from Taxachusetts hasn't helped

Actually, Perot's old running mate, Stockdale was a very generous and distinquished man. Although they never made news in the MSM, both he and Perot did a lot for Vietnam veterans who returned from Vietnam and from the prisoner of war camps. Stockdale was senile by the time he was running with Perot for the position, but I have much more respect for him than I do most of the politicians in Washington today.  At least he, and Perot, used their wealth and political pull to help those who had served this country.

As crazy as the old man was by that time, it's hard to imagine why Perot would pick him. I don't remember a lot about him, except he was nuts.

That is no insignificant bullcrap, Senator. Veterans lucky enough even make it onto a waiting list have often languished for months waiting to be seen by VA physicians. Many have died waiting for appointments, in the Phoenix VA system alone. Cutting wait lists, Senator? More like cutting corners.
