Sometimes it one ingredient that marries the entire dish...in this case...SPARKY"S HOTDOGS would not be as popular if it was not for the unique SLAW they have.
Its a mayo base cabbage slaw with celery seeds that somehow works wonders with their dogs...

If you want a REAL SLAW DOG go to Smokie Boys BBQ in Lexington on Hwy 64 just a few hundred feet east of Big Star. It is very good.

Howell's is the best. My grandma has the original recipe, I remember her making it when I was a kid. Don't ask me how she got a copy of it.

I heard Bunyon's no longer makes the slaw for sale in retail establishments. The old man turned it over to the son who no longer feels the need to retail his slaw.

Mayo based slaw on a hotdog? Wow. I have never done that. Sounds interesting to say the least. I am going to have to give it a go.

Katie's Slaw is GREAT. Think you can get it at Big Star. Made here in Florence too.

As I said on the quest for BBq slaw, I used the katie's poolroom slaw recipe and used several habenaro's and some smoked chipoltlies. The habenaros, I grew myself, the chipolties I purchased at a grocery store, Publix in Madison I think? You can also but the habenaros there too.

Anyway, it was just a hot dog/hamburger cookout afterschool for the kids. Nothing fancy. But we did make homemade ice cream! MMMMMMMMMM
