Best Wings

Surprisingly, I would have to say Krystals... I have had wings from almost every local place and they rank at the top for me.

Wing Shack on Florence Blvd. next to Whitten's and at the end of English Village. Nice big wings. Cooked to order. Great french fries too. 256-760-WING.

Haven't had any in this area that I am just enamored with. Years ago, across from Brooks High there was a restaurant ran by Ron Ingram whose wings were killer. Since then, nothing has been too good here IMO.

I had BWW last night for the first time. I got the Asian Zing wings. I loved them. Just hot enough with a nice sweet asian flavor. I will be going back.

As far as Wing Shack, I had them once when they first opened and it was atrocious. My wife and I got two totally different flavors and they tasted the exact same, not to mention they were as dry as a catchers mitt. Hopefully they've gotten better, but I won't be going back anytime soon.

Monkey's Uncle, give Wing Shack another chance. Totally different owner from when they first opened. Much better product now. Give 'em just one more chance.

I may do that. I usually do give a place two tries, generally new places need to work the bugs out. I'll take your word and give them another try soon.

Let me ask you, do they still give you that sorry piece of bread in with the wings? I never understood that. Why not a roll or some texas toast?

I like Logan's wings. Nekkid. Sauce on the side. On the Rocks makes a good wing too.

Taking notes from the suggestions however I will add another comment. I have to agree on Krystal's Wings. Was a huge surprise to me. My only problem with them is that they are a bit too spicy (HOT) for my taste and stomach but still I chance it and try them every chance I get to Krystal.

I've seen Wing Shack and have thought about trying them. Guess I'll add them in with BWW for my next wing ventures.

I have to agree on Krystal's, surprisingly great! Zaxby's is pretty good too. I have heard a lot of good things about Wing Shack but have not given them a try. Logan's is OK but not exactly an award winner either.

Tried Buffalo Wild Wings today. Not as good as Appleby's wings. BWW charged the same for 6 as Appleby's charges for 10. Everything comes in a paper tray (much like a BBQ joint). Atmosphere was cool but was a bit loud. For Semi - the fried pickles are good!

Apparently Im the only southern man that does NOT LIKE wings.

Krystals wings are frozen and not fresh. I ate them a few times and they were great until the last order I got were still froze in the middle. Wing Shack has some of the best wings and they are fresh.

I don't know if they are fresh or frozen, I assume frozen, but Chuck E Cheese has great hotwings! I was surprised at how good the flavor was!

Maybe I have just been trained , but I still think
Sidelines has the best. I like the HOT, and the honey bbq. I don't know about the other flavors.

I forgot about them. They used to have really good wings. Used to get the tenders and wings combo platter.

I love hot wings, but how on earth do you folks eat them in public without coming away looking like a pig with all that stuff on your face and hands? Is there a way to eat them neatly?

They are so yummy but so messy.

As a female you could probably get away with picking at them with a knife and fork, which would be cleaner. However, as a man I would have my "man card" taken away(rightfully so) for doing that. The only solution is to grab a bunch of wet naps and get after it.

Bunches of napkins, and wet wipes. Then after you finish, go to the rest room and wash up.
I do the same when I eat ribs.
Always feel like I need a shower after either though.

The trick is to go at them like a Hoover. Suck the meat right off the bone and make slurping sounds and then lick the sauce off your fingers. That's about as polite as you can get with wings.

Made the trip to Buffalo Wild Wings tonight and they were packed. Parking spilling over into K-Mart's side lot and unfortunately parking along the road in front of BWW which effectively turned a two way street into a one way with people darting in and out between vehicles.

As for the wings, the traditional (bone in) wings were priced on sale today (Tuesday) at 45 cents each, which may have accounted for the large crowd. The Buffalo flavor was good but I can't say better than I've had other locations. I did notice they were dry, a rub, rather than wet sauce. We also ordered some of their Beer battered Onion Rings.

The Beer Battered Onion Rings I have to say were among the best we have found anywhere and we'll be back for those alone. The bad was that it was quite noisy around us and it took forever to get our bill paid as they had computer problems but that can come with a new place. Overall I was glad we tried them tonight and look forward to going back, especially for those Onion Rings.

If you go to Huntsville and eat wings you will be able to do so with a lot more people who don't give a damm either if you make a mess.

GBRK, I agree about the noise level in BWW. Dueling tvs and rotten acoustics. Lots of crowd noise in the mix. That seems to be less bothersome after a couple of beers.

gbrk, you must have ordered them that way specifically, or unknowingly, because every BWWs ive been to always have a wet sauce on the wings

i went to bww last week and got the boneless medium and the south west egg rolls. both were good, but both are better at chili's. imo, chili's has the best boneless wings with zaxby's coming in second.

Actually I just pointed out the selection to the waitress who was working for her second day only. I don't know is she put in what I ordered or not but what I got wasn't a wet wing but one that had a dry rub on it. I didn't even know there was a buffalo with dry rub so maybe buffalo isn't what I got. Whatever I got was good and I'd order it again but I'll have to look more carefully when I go back and see what I order and then what I get.

i checked the menu online and they do offer a dry rub, which i had never noticed before, so yea she probably goofed.

Stephano's in Town Plaza in Sheffield has the best wings. However, they only come "hot---there are no other choices so if you can't handle the spice you're out of luck.

Looking forward to trying BWW, though.

I too have been turned on to BWW onion rings. They are just great and I now order them instead fo the fries. Their BBQ burger is really good as well.

When I started the topic I meant restaurants in the area but I'll take this opportunity to brag on one brand of wings available at the local grocery stores that you take home and warm up to eat. There are several offerings but none have I found that are better than TGIF's Wings that are found in the frozen food section of the stores.

I've tried Tyson and another off brand but none come close to the TGIF brand. Not having a TGIF here I haven't tried the real thing in the restaurant but I really would like to seeing how good the store offering is. Buffalo or BBQ they both are very good.

I have eaten wings all over and the best I have found are the "Hot" or "Cajun" wings at Wing Shack in Florence!!!! 

Don't make your.mind up yet new restaurant.opening in june downtown has fall off bone smoked ribs so different than everybody elses.fried wings....but hey there my friends so let.forum deside!
