My wife and I are looking to fence in our backyard.  Can anybody suggest the best place to buy the lumber.  I feel like we could find a better deal somewhere other than the big box stores, Lowes, Home Depot, etc.  We would love to use cedar, but may have to settle for treated pine for cost efficiency.

I built my fence in Bartlett out of cyprus. bought it at a lumber mill in G-town, can't remember the name tho.
The fence is now over 35 years old, and is still standing as of last year. Gopherwood just doesn't rot.
I don't know of any place around here in the Shoals area that sells it tho.

Just get out there and price the wood.  Don't forget Walker Lumber in Tuscumbia as a great source for wood.

And if you don't have an air compressor, get one to use with a nail gun to put up the wall structure.  Professionals use long staples to put the vertical boards on the wall structure.  Hammers are a thing of the past when it comes to wooden fences.
