In all the excitement over promoting the debut of Megyn Kelly's Sunday night program opposite 60 Minutes, NBC indulged in a fake news Russia conspiracy fantasy and got busted.  Taking to Twitter, the Comcast-owned network hyped an "exclusive" (in all caps) revelation from Megyn Kelly's interview with Vladimir Putin: EXCLUSIVE: Putin does not deny having compromising information on President Trump in interview with Megyn Kelly It was one of those stories "too good to check" – even against the network's own transcript of the interview.  Sister NBC network CNBC did sign on to the fake news effort and reported that Putin denied having compromising information: Russia's Putin denies having compromising information on Trump https://t.co/orHEuaBLGU— CNBC (@CNBC) June 4, 2017 As did Reuters: Russian President Vladimir Putin strongly denied he had any compromising material about U.S. President...(Read Full Post)

Whenever Muslims act out the violence against infidels that Islamic scripture requires, the left-wing media swing into action to create and reinforce a contrasting narrative: that most Muslims condemn and fight such attacks.  Never mind that the terrorists could not unleash their violence if the Muslim communities in which they live agreed with the media narrative.  They would be spotted and turned in to authorities by their co-religionists if the fantasy narrative of "good Muslims" rejecting violence and insisting that their "great religion" is truly beneficent for the world, including its non-Muslim majority.

Because the actual facts on the ground do not support the benign view of Muslims as overwhelmingly hostile to terrorists and committed to peaceful coexistence, it is necessary to create (not simply report) events that confirm the media narrative.  CNN has just been caught creating a fake news event to support its narrative, and its efforts were rewarded with pick-ups by the BBC and the AP, among others.

In this two-minute video, CNN puts together a handful of people, carrying pre-printed signs (no spontaneity involved), and arranges them before the camera to look like a substantial crowd.  The elevated stage is a nice touch, confirming the professional expertise brought to bear in prepping this scene for the cameras.

I am a bit surprised our resident liberals didn't take the bait[s].  This may be evidence that one in particular learned his lesson about checking out links' credibility before exercising his "newly" acquired skill.  Being CNN and NBC are MSM and occasionally get it right as opposed to routine liberal fake news sites that routinely get it wrong, maybe it's a sign our liberals are being a bit cautious as they see rats identified leaving the sinking ship which is the MSM et al hatred of anything Trump.  Remember our former ranking liberal who took all his news from fake news headlines.

Anyhow, I do look forward to seeing [not necessarily reading] what liberals consider news sponge worthy.
