Cardinal Wilfrid Fox Napier, the Archbishop of Durban, spoke with Stephen Nolan for BBC Radio 5 about the Catholic Church child sex abuse scandal. Commenting on the Church's "mishandling" of pedophile priests, Napier said the Church took the proper actions when handling the accused by giving them therapy. He also called pedophilia "a psychological condition, a disorder," according to the BBC.>>>

Well gee, what's the problem? That's exactly what the liberals in this country say. To them EVERYTHING is an illness, from being a drunk to a drug addict and all in between, and it's "society's" fault they do what they do.

Really?

As a liberal and a human I think anyone that hurts a child should be put away forever. Or better yet, save us all the trouble of taking care of them for decades and just put a bullet in their heads. If they are sick its a sickness that can't be cured and they are not safe out in society with our most vulnerable and innocent.

Do you ever find negative stories about the CoC?

Hi Contendah,

When I saw your discussion title "Cardinal Sin" I had to laugh.  Not sure how many know this; but, for many years the Roman Catholic Cardinal responsible for the Philippines was named:  Cardinal Sin.  Honest, not making this up.  That was his name.

And, while speaking of unusual names, in late 1960s, my wife worked at Hoag Hospital in Costa Mesa, California.  One of the RN nurses she worked with was named Mrs. Death.  Can you imagine being in a coma and waking up to find a nurse leaning over you -- with the name tag:  Mrs. Death?

Honest, not lying.  These are true names.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Hi Vic,

But, still, you have to admit that, to a non-Roman Catholic, hearing a leader addressed or introduced as Cardinal Sin is amusing.  For we know that the Roman Catholic church divides sins:  Original, Mortal, Venial -- so one that is CARDINAL must really be bad.  And, Cardinal Sin is a leader?  I think I would have adopted a new name upon being promoted to the status of Cardinal.

The same applies to the nurse with whom Dory worked at Hoag Hospital, Mrs. Death.   Can you imagine opening your eyes and seeing Mrs. Death leaning over you?

Smile, my Friend, a wee bit of humor never killed anyone -- not even a Roman Catholic convertee.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

I was aware of Cardinal Sin of the Philippines, but I doubted that my caption would provoke any notice of that on the forum.  My mistake, since you are indeed aware of that particular cleric.

A former head of the biochemistry department at Vanderbilt University was a Doctor Frank Blood.

In Nashville at one time there was a dentist named Dr. Payne.

Well I'm a cradle Catholic born into the Church of the Bible, Jesus, Peter,

Paul and Mary. I'm infant baptized and that means if I died anytime after

that I am without original sin. You're just a small time simple redneck

with a six year mentallity with the giggles over a common in law indonesian

friend. If you want to mock a persons surname, go ahead.

Hi Head,

Names can be funny.  For many years in the computer industry there was a well known computer scientist who had a Ph.d. and his last name was Doctor.   Yes, in the magazines and such, they referred to him as Doctor Doctor.   Sounds like a good title for a rock song.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill
