Lock, Stock and Barrel on Friday and Saturdays. All you can eat I think both days. Fish is great and puppies are to die for. I should know I eat there alot! Their food is always fresh and always something good as a special. Go early on Fridays as they have entertainment and it gets busy later on. Haven't been there on a Saturday. I think it could be some of the best in the area.
The answer to this question is relative to how one likes their fish:

Thick and meaty. Who likes it like this? Anyone? I don't really care for it this way, but if you do, Swamp Johns is probably the best. Their fillet's are a little thick for my liking. Whole fish is fine though.

Thin and crispy. This is how I prefer it, and I like mine from Newberns. The food is great, but THE ATMOSPHERE IS TERRIBLE. I cannot stress this enough. It feels like a nursing home cafeteria in there. But, food always comes out hot and quick. Hard to beat.

Blackened fillets. I love me some blackened catfish, but can't find anywhere around here who can do it much justice. I've even tried the swanky Crocodile Ed's and it was just okay. High price + small portion = suck squared.

Where can I get some real blackened catfish? Half the places around here just sprinkle some Tony Chachere's (or some other generic cajun spice) on it, and cook it in a pan. This aint cuttin it.

Somebody tell me where? pretty pleez
Thanks for the info Gus.

I used to frequent Homeside(style) very often, as it is less than a mile from my home. Went there 3 or 4 days a week for lunch for a while. They were great at first, but had a noticeable decline in quality after their first few months of operation. Admittedly, I have not been there in over a year. I will have to get backgive their blackened cat another try.

I dont make it through Lexington all that often, but next time I do, i will stop in at Preston's.

And I have no doubt at all that Miss Annies can do it up right. For some reason I always think of them as a steak and ribs kind of place. And I am embarrass to say that I have only ventured there once since they re-opened. But now I have a reason to make a special trip.

Now some of ya'll are probably not gonna believe this, but some of the best blackened catfish I ever had was at the old Frosty King on Church Rd. It could still be pretty hit or miss there too though. I guess it depended on what cook was working that night. The last time that place changed management/ownership, that place went to hell in a turdbasket FAST. It was terrible.
