You just hit the main point of the TEA parties. They are tired of choosing between the lesser of 2 evils. Since when is a perfect past a requirement for political office? Could you stand the scrutiny of running for political office? I wouldn't want my past printed for everyone to read. We've all made dumb mistakes in our past. Does that make your viewpoints and beliefs invalid? I would rather elect someone who's been through things like we have than someone that has no reality of what real life is. Stop attacking the messengers. If you want to debate their message feel free.

The problem with that line of thought is that politicians aren't just messengers, they have the authority to make decisions that directly affect everyone. Their message can be sound, and their ability to execute can be weak. Even worse, their message can be sound, and they're just liars.

You're right dolemite, but a lot of posters on both sides only want to debate the faults of the politicians and not what their views and beliefs are. I could really care less what personal problems someone has been through. I'm more interested in what deciosions they are going to make once in office. Like I've said if we're looking for people who have no personal problems to put in office we're going to be out of luck.
