Is there a place around the Shoals that hosts cooking classes/school? Is there an interest? I don't know of a dedicated kitchen store, a la Williams & Sonoma, that hosts cooking classes.

I also read in a magazine once about a lady in the English countryside that hosted small cooking classes in her home. She brought in a guest chef, signed people up, and they had class and a brilliant lunch afterwards. Would anyone be interested in something like that?

In reference to the cooking school, we need 4 people who would like to demonstrate a dish...we will start with salad..then main entry...a couple of side dishes and dessert...
There is a place in Florence we can rent for such event...I will check on the price..
The cost of the cooking school will cover the cost of the rent and cost of food.

Once we decided on the dishes, we could set up the amount of people that could attend that class..the cost could be calculated..we could then set the date...and begin Pre-registering.

Any suggestions? Please respond if interested here on this site...and I or another person will contact you by private mail..
Sherry Campbell down at the Shoals Commercial Culinary Center conducts cooking classes quite often. They have an excellent facility and the prices are very reasonable. My wife has taking several classes there including some bread baking ones. If you email Sherry she will put you her emailing list to notify you when classes are available. You can contact Sherry at scampbell@shoalsec.com or give her a call at (256) 764-0044
