<<<There will never be any real justice for the victims of sexual abuse perpetrated by Catholic priests in and around Philadelphia; at least not in the sense that even one of the 50 serial rapists will ever be punished. In those cases, the wheels of justice not only did not turn slowly, they didn’t turn at all because the Church concealed the crimes and protected the rapists. However, according to a grand jury report released Tuesday; “Hundreds of children in western Pennsylvania were sexually assaulted by 50 Roman Catholic priests over four decades while the diocese’ Catholic bishops covered up their actions.”>>>

Ok contenduh, what do you want to happen?

What SHOULD happen is that the catholic church should investigate and confirm just which bishops and others were involved in the cover-ups of these crimes, which facilitated yet more abuses. All involved in the cover-ups should be terminated from their lofty positions.  If there is any legal way to rescind the statute of limitations, that also should be done, but I doubt that there is.  Thus, the cover-ups served not only to facilitate continued abuse; they also protected the villainous priestly vermin from the punishment they should have received under criminal law.  Altogether a heinous, abominable afrffair and all the more heinous and abominable because it has been so often replicated throughout the catholic church both here and abroad.

Despite headlines focusing on the priest pedophile problem in the Roman Catholic Church, most American churches being hit with child sexual-abuse allegations are Protestant, and most of the alleged abusers are not clergy or staff, but church volunteers.

These are findings from national surveys by Christian Ministry Resources (CMR), a tax and legal-advice publisher serving more than 75,000 congregations and 1,000 denominational agencies nationwide.

I believe the biggest problem with pedophiles in religions is that most good people can't believe that the supposedly saintly person could do such a thing. Pedophiles try to find professions that place them in contact with their prey and some professions like teaching or law enforcement and associations like churches will automatically protect the abuser because pedophiles are good actors.

Well, it got YOUR attention, didn't it?  And instead of lamenting the heinous abuse, you just took a cheap potshot at me.

Redundancy usually does get my attention.  Especially by those who do it expecting different results.  Continually.

The first several go-rounds, the abuse was duly noted.  The subject of your latest rant had to do with nothing was being done about it or was going to be done about it.  . . .  even one of the 50 serial rapists will ever be punished.

 So . . .

If you consider my comment regarding your misunderstanding of how a grand jury works a cheap shot, well . . .

As a retired LEO, I believe that to be true to a certain extent.  I, for one, was always a skeptic but even skeptics can be fooled.  And when that trust is betrayed, all hell is sure to follow.  Once was enough.  No second time.  No turning the other cheek.

We're all human and I've been fooled by "good" folks too. Usually there follows a period of doubting humanity after the period of denial, but that also passes when we accept that those people are a small minority.

Aren't you jumping the gun a bit . . . or is it you don't know how grand juries work?

Monsignor Harold J. Burkhardt, who died in 2000, was one of dozens of church leaders named in a sweeping indictment by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office.

The Mormons will be next.

While Radical Islamist get a pass.

I most certainly know how grand juries work and I am also very familiar with the rampant corruption that has produced and protected scores of pedophile monsters in the Catholic clergy.  Just check with any of the numerous parents of abused children in the Philadelphia diocese  if you need further information.
