Don't forget Lash's which is on Hwy 101 between Elgin and Wheeler Dam. They have FRESH seafood brought in from the Gulf and will cook it fresh for you.
My wife and I were disappointed in Lash's. We saw what was listed as "fresh" fish and shrimp but it appeared more as frozen that had been thawed and when we ordered fried Shrimp to eat in they didn't cook any from that selection but from a frozen batch that tasted like it was just fried from pre-battered frozen boxed shrimp. The Crab legs were a good deal at $7.95 a pound but were over steamed and didn't have much meat remaining to pick from. There wasn't anything there that would lure me back to eat. I'm sure they have some good deals on fish to purchase and take home but for eating in there are much better selections around the Shoals area.

Wish I had saw that before but still I don't have to have fresh but I at least did expect they might fry the shrimp fresh, meaning batter the shrimp in the case and fry them. I also expected that with eat in you could possibly get any of the fish cooked there but I was wrong. Catfish, no problem, plenty is pre-fried.

It's too bad that what started out as a "FRESH" Seafood place has turned into something other. Maybe you can still get some relatively fresh fish there but to lure me back they will have to change things such as cooking the fresh fish or fresh shrimp as I can buy frozen shrimp and fish and cook them myself at home and achieve close to the same taste.

On the positive side though Lash's did serve me the best tasting hush puppies I have had in the area.
