I was thrilled to see Dairy Queen coming back into the Shoals area and while I still make my trips down there it's not to eat Lunch or Dinner as it seems that their quality and ability to actually serve you a fresh hot meal has been lost.

The last several times that I've dined there the food has been warm at best and the employees (yes I know they are minimum wage earners) always seem to have the worst attitudes and really don't seem to care about being there.  Also the times I've been there there has also been a noticeably shortage of employees working there and the ones that are there seem to be doing so many things that they just slow down to a crawl as if they don't care if things get done or not.   I also observed about four out of ten orders that were reported as being incorrect in some way.  Not to mention it seems that the serving sizes have gotten smaller and less and less topping amounts are being used.

I couldn't help but think back to IHOP and when they opened and how fast things went downhill.  No doubt it was poor management in IHOP's case but I'm concerned that if things don't get turned around at Dairy Queen we'll have one more restaurant that will fail at that location.

I hope I've just been in at bad times or just been the one with bad luck so just curious if anyone else has tried them and felt the same?   Have things gone downhill or is it just me?

I do think Dairy Queen has done the best(at least so far) of anything in that location. Going through the drive through the employees seem to be fairly nice. At first, my order would get messed up a lot, but it has been correct lately(and fairly hot). One person told me that because Dairy Queen has Ice Cream(Blizzards, etc.) they may make it in the location where other restaurants have failed. I do think Dairy Queen has tried to improve the entrance/exit at least some. Think about Jimmy John's, Quiznos used to be in that location and failed(I have heard because of how parking was bad), but Jimmy John's delivers so that is way less of an issue than before. By the way, I have heard Jimmy John's is thinking about a location on the other side of town(the area around the Cox Creek/Florence Boulevard intersection).
