Tom Tancredo is famous out here in California. He is the House's foremost opponent to illegal immigration.
Otherwise, he's pretty much Newt Gingrich, anti-abortion, low taxes, etc. I hope he runs a good race for pres, just to get the discussion in the air.

Thanks DF...his positions on Neo Conservative Issues are MORE THAN 100%. When I think of Columbine, i think of Tancredo.

Tancredo represents the district that contains Columbine High School.
Long time support of the most radical elements of the National Rifle Association. (you might think that's a good thing, but I don't.) I support gun ownership...but not machine gun ownership.

I looked at his website, several things I like.
On health care

I also support health savings accounts, which are savings accounts for individuals and families with high-deductible health plans to save, tax-free for the future of their health and the health of their loved ones."
On education
"I believe that now is the time to implement creative, innovative ideas for improving education. Rather than relying solely on increased federal funding, efforts must be made to return control, decision-making authority, and money back to the local level - back to the teachers, parents and school boards to whom we entrust our children as was originally intended in the United States Constitution."
On taxes
"I believe that Congress must work to allow Americans to keep more of their hard-earned money. These individuals and families, after all, know best how to spend their money, not the federal government. It was in attempts to solve this problem that in 2001, Congress voted to reduce, across the board, the income tax rates. We implement a child tax credit, eliminate the marriage penalty and the estate tax (aka the “death tax”). "
However, he's a republican and I really don't trust either party right now. He can say these things I like to hear, but do something completely different if elected to go in step with his party. Democrats & Republicans have lied to us all too much, I would really rather find a qualified third party candidate.
