This is todays poll, any thoughts on this?

I vote on it every day... interesting polls (sometimes) and some that I THINK I know the answer just blows me away when the final talley is in, lol...

Yes, Religion is discussed here at work all the time. I have the Lords prayer, and the 23rd Psalms taped to my bookcase so everyone can see it. Of course, most don't ask WHAT religion anyone is, just religion.

How do you feel?
We are in the USA aren"t?
So we should feel free to discuss Religion, we have the choice to choose what we believe, so no problem.
I have had to just back away several times, when the discussion got really heavy.
I wont offend any one on ther belief, but i belive what i do and i don't plan on changing from what anyone says.
I am open to all beliefs.
Work out you own salvation with fear and trembling.
i belioeve in Christianity, not religon.
so yes we do discuss religon most every day at work.
rlr
we have always discussed our religous and personal beliefs at work, sharing thoughts, ideas and feelings. In fact it was thru these conversations I was invited to the church I now attend, and have for over 15 yrs
This question came about at a very good time as my sister is facing new regulations at her workplace. beginning the first of the year this will not be allowed during working hours. Her boss went on to tell them what they discuss during breaktime and lunchtime is their business.

Religion and politics should pretty much stay at home in my opinion. If you don't think religion can be divisive explain why there are several hundred denominations.

I don't know the history of every denomination & how they began, but 'today' I think denominations continue to exist because people choose to worship in different ways and serve in different ways. For example, some are distracted in their worship if many around them are quiet whereas others are distracted in their worship if many around them are loud. There are some extreme cases where there is division, but in most cases we understand we are one in Christ. A good example of this is the Shoals Praise & Worship Choir, which consists of nearly every denomination.

I don't think someone should force you to join in a conversation regarding religion or politics against your will. That would not be appropriate. However, unless chattiness is interfering with work performance, I also think those that want to discuss religion or politics should be free to do so. Just my opinion, of course.
Lord, you hit a subject that I thought was STUPID since day one! I mean is it accurate? I know for one that in the old format, I got to vote 700 plus times against RSA and it was counted as being in favor. They may have gotten the "bugs" out but why not ask a poll question that is "relevent" such as: ARE YOU SECURE LIVING IN THE SHOALS ECONOMOCALLY? Food for thougt: Palmer and Company THE DOG
Todays poll is ........stupid. Should an ABC licensed place be able to sell on New Years if it is on Sunday? Yes if it is legal, no if it is not. I think the question really is. Should an ABC licensed place be able to sell on Sunday for New Years if it is ILLEGAL for them to sell on Sunday otherwise? While the law may be backwards, it isnt going backwards. If you want to sell on Sunday either move to Florence or become a private club. I know a place in Vandiver who sells everyday in a dry county because they are a private club. Their dues are under $5 a year! Ways around everything my friends.

Yes, but Florence doesn't allow sale for off premises consumption. I don't know about the private club in Vandiver, but I would imagine it doesn't sell for off premises consumption either. We need off premises sale on Sunday.

As for the polls, I vote in many of them. On the religion one mentioned above, I voted that I don't feel comfortable discussing religion at work. It is not because of my workplace, everyone there is Christian, and I even go to church with some of them. However, I just don't think that the workplace is the right place to be discussing religion.
