In another topic, bestworking, some others, and I discussed why circumcision was needed. If I interpret her last post correctly, her question was not about sin causing disease and the need for circumcision, but why God did not equip man to face this if He knew it would be in his future.

Yes, I believe God is omniscient; however, I'm not sure that He chooses to look into the future in our lives, partially because of our free will. Most Christians would say that if young Joe married young Jane, God would bless their union, not desiring to see it end.

Yet, if Joe went to Afghanistan, and Jane suddenly decided she liked Jim...liked him very, very much, God would allow Joe to divorce Jane and be free to marry again. After some time, if Joe married single Jenny, then God would want Joe and Jenny's marriage to last forever. There are other scenarios that we could use, but this pretty much sums up the theory that God may choose not to know some things in our future.

FV----Don't kid yourself, you do know better, or are you just doing the

creation of conversation thing?

.

No, Vic, I'm serious. I'm not saying God cannot look into anyone's future, etc., but does He always? It's a similar question as to why does God cause some people to miss a flight that will crash and not others. Good Christian people die on the flight that crashed. We as mortals have no idea why God lets some things happen and not others.

My main thrust here is: Did God really bless the first marriage and want it to work? I would have to say yes. Could you think of something that I'm missing? Yet, when one spouse is unfaithful and the wronged party marries again, God wants that marriage to be blessed and last forever. This could sound like a contradiction to some, but it certainly wouldn't be if God did not always use his powers of omniscience.

God is always in control and never surprised, our free will is our basic drive and

it's why I do what I do. Should I have special treatment from God while it's not

given to all people? He lets us live our lives come what may.

I'm thinking when he does or does not intervene, we would agree with that

action if knowing the complete reason.

God blessed Adam and Eve and what did they do? Da mned the entire

human race to hell. And he knew it was going to happen.

My personal belief is everything is going according to his plan.

There is a very good reason why it's the best plan,

we just haven't found out about it yet.

.

I agree with Vic (as usual). I believe God knows everything, and as He exists outside of time, He knows everything at once. There is no before or after for God. But because He gave us free will, He lets us do whatever we want to.

And although as a mere human I will never understand the mind of God, I trust that in the end, everything will turn out the way it's supposed to. And I will strive to do His will in all things so that He will be pleased by my actions - not that I'm trying to please Him so I can get into Heaven either. I want to please Him because I love Him. He has done so much for me, I just want to make Him happy in return.

I have.

I remember Jimi has mentioned it more than once and she also said

she is a Deist.

You can clear that up when you turn in your atheist card.

Once again, Vic doesn't know what she is talking about.

Jimi, if at one time you didn't say you were an Deist, then I'm wrong.

And I thought you were a girl, wrong again?

No problem. pretty much everything that you say is wrong, so we are used to it.

That's a good point.  We believe that God chooses to "remember your sins no more".  He could easily choose to not look into our future.

Joy,,,I think when God remembers your sins no more is a way of saying

God won't hold those sins against the person ever again.

Again, just me, in this day and time God isn't going to allow a divorce.

You just do it because that's what you want. it's your free will.

For God to not know the future isn't logical and he's not in control

He won't allow himself to be surprised at something I'm trying to

get away with two days from now.

He's not in a guessing game. he created us and knows

we bear watching.

In Firenze's story, the wife leaves the husband and God allows the husband to remarry, blesses his new marriage.  I'm fairly certain that lines up with scripture, but no time to look it up right now.

"Remember your sins no more" could mean what you say or it could mean just that, that he remembers them no more.  Either way, it's a good thing.

Where was the sin in the story?
