For years, he couldn’t get her to give him the time of day? And wouldn't talk to him about anything but Jesus??  …until he got rich & on TV. Way to go, girl!

(I thought he was gay!)

“Of course, she is over the moon with joy at the prospect of becoming Mrs. John Luke Robertson”.

Chick, my Friend,

Actually, he did pretty well, only took him 4 years to convince her to look his way.  My senior pastor pursued his wife 7 years before she landed him.   And, my best Friend from high school, pastor/evangelist Dr. Bob Davis -- first met his wife when he was stationed in the Air Force in Saudi Arabia where she was a school teacher in the American military dependents school.  Same result, she would not give him the time of day.  He pursued her from Saudi Arabia to the Philippines, then to America -- before she landed him.

Both couples were married over 50 years when the wives were promoted into heaven.  But, those over 50 years were glorious years for their ministries, for the families they each raised, and for the many lives both families have touched over all those years.

So, that young man seems to be on the fast track -- and they do make an attractive couple.  I am sure they will spend many years together -- in joint service to our Lord.  Praise the Lord that they have decided to join forces in their service to God.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

That's great!! Congratulations!

These days it seems to be about who has the most money. My guess is that she didn't want anything to do with him until he got rich & on TV.

Well lets see.  The kid was born rich and duck dynasty has been on for 6 seasons.  They met 4 years ago so help me the math here......

Contendah, my Friend,

CONGRATULATIONS!  It blesses me that your marriage is so well grounded.  I look forward to fellowship with both of you in heaven.

My wife and I have only made it 37 years and counting.  But, the beauty of our marriage, like I am sure is true of your marriage -- is that it will live eternally.

When Dory and I were dating, as we were driving she would sing to me.  At that time she was singing at a number of different functions and celebrations in Southern California -- once sang at a Century Plaza Hotel reception for the governor.

Anyway, during our dating years -- she always sang to me.  One song I always loved was the Barbra Streisand song "The Way We Were"

Mem'ries, Light the corners of my mind, Misty water-colored memories, Of the way we were Scattered pictures, Of the smiles we left behind, Smiles we gave to one another, For the way we were. Can it be that it was all so simple then? Or has time re-written every line? If we had the chance to do it all again, Tell me, would we?  Could we?  Mem'ries, may be beautiful and yet, What's too painful to remember, We simply choose to forget.  So it's the laughter We will remember, Whenever we remember... The way we were... The way we were...

Now I tease her that she sang to me to catch me -- and then the music stopped!  But, that is not really true.  Our music will never stop -- for it is grounded in God's Word.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Duck Dynasty has been on TV since March, 2012.

Math doesn't have anything to do with it. They didn't even start dating until last March, but I don't care if they met 10 years ago. A woman can change her mind or make a decision in less than a heartbeat. Maybe all that fame & money kept looking better & better to her. It does happen you know.

There's something wrong with anyone that's puts themselves out there as the perfect little Christian. There's no such thing. Bill Gray tries his hardest to convince the people on this forum that he's this great wonderful Christian that's going to Heaven but the majority of us know better. Same with the Robertson's. They talk the talk but the walk you see on TV is the walk they want the public to see. You don't know anything about these people & their lives behind closed doors. They seem like good people but we only see what they put before the camera's.

I do not question the Robertsons' sincerity.   I do question the intelligence of folks who devotedly follow their corny  "adventures".  Sure, they are wholesome, but they are so-o-o BORING!

Yeah Contendah, they're boring and bored people are drawn to watch out

of boredom. The duck's aren't in need of the money, so it must be the need

of something to do for themselves. I can't blame them, it's their party and how

many in this forum would jump at the chance to bore America's azz off,

for the money..??

Money is nice, that's for sure, and it would be nice to have enough so you don't worry about your or your children's future. After that, imo, there's not a lot of reason to keep accumulating it unless you're using it to help others. I know some people love having billions or millions, and that's fine by me. With all that 'said', I can't think of many worse ways to make that money than putting your life on display, but I guess it satisfies them in some way, or makes them feel important.

Hubs and I were in Nashville a couple of months ago and walked up to a food truck. Turns out they  were doing some reality show and wanted us to participate. I said "sure". They filmed it over and over. Got the food, they told us what to order. Gave us the food, had to give it back. Re-film it. Went through that a couple of times. Hubby wanted the wings but they said no, the wings were just for show and weren't safe to eat. What we ended up with was ok but wasn't worth the price.

Definitely wasn't 'real'. I'm sure what ever went on the program looked real/

Ya got me there!  I doubt that I have watched even one "reality show" all the way through.  After a very few minutes, the shallowness and fakery become so overwhelming that  I can stand no more.  If there is even one that has any smarts at all, I have not found it.  My experience thus far compels me to avoid them all from now on.
