Edwards announces run

Edwards is an "ambulance chaser" lawyer, and how he made his millions. Worthless, IMHO. He has no soul, no nothing. He goes the way the latest poll questions go.

Not to mention, why would a Democrat use as a prop to start a campaign New Orleans, a city rife with corruption (see Willie Wonka Nagain, Congressman "Freezer" Jefferson, and GOV Blanco) and failed Democrat policies? Answer: exploitation.

Anything is better than what we have, in MY opinion.

That's what the Democrats are counting on. They're hoping their party platform and nominees' position on certain subjects (ie. illegal aliens, abortion, gay marrige etc.) will be secondary to their main campaign strategy : "we're not Bush/Republicans"
If they're elected and have power in Congress as well Presidency, they can pretty much do as they please.
Democrats or Rebulicans, it doesn't really matter, they're both just puppets of the people that really run the show. Nowadays this country is run by the golden rule : He who has the gold rules.

Sad but true.

Every 4 years the sheeple, I mean people, elect whomever they dislike least. I'm afraid that in 40-50 years they'll elect Vicente Foxs' grandson president of the north american union. Thank God I'll be dead by then. Wink
The only thing I know to do is look at their voting record & vote for whoever mirrors how you'd vote yourself. I realize politicians vote according to whoever paid their way into office. I'm not sure how comforted I am by the fact that whoever paid for their election shares my views, but there you have it.

VERY TRUE... couldn't agree more! VOTE 'EM ALL OUT! Big Grin
I think Edwards will be a formidable candidate. Who cares whether or not he is a trial lawyer? I have not heard anyone say what makes a trial lawyer bad except that they are supposedly "liberal."

Bush and Cheney are oil men. That has to be below trial lawyer. Nonetheless, I think Edwards would do a great job as president. I am going to put at least my early support behind him, and then see how the primaries turn out.

Sen. Clinton is probably as hard headed as Pres. Bush, and as far as Sen. Obama, I think he would be a great president as well, but he may need to wait a few more years until he gets some more experience. Though I don't blame him for striking while the iron is hot.

I would vote for any of the 3 mentioned above, but for now I will support Edwards.
I pretty much agree with brakefield. Until the primaries are over, my money is on Edwards. As far as Sen. Obama, he is still "wet behind the ears" in the political arena. There just isn'e enough experience to warrant his election. Now given, he is bright, young, and eager, that could also be his downfall. Sen. Clinton is definitely hard headed. She does have enough background and dealings with "the government" issues and policies and knowledge of the everyday workings to be considered a formidable opponent to almost any candidate.
Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make
their days interesting. Well, for example, the other day I went downtown
and went into a shop. I was only in there for about 5 minutes and when
I came out there was a cop writing out a parking ticket I went up to
him and said, "Come on, man, how about giving a retired person a
break"? He ignored me and continued writing the ticket.

I called him a "Nazi." He glared at me and started writing another
ticket for having worn tires. So I called him a "doughnut eating
Gestapo." He finished the second ticket and put it on the
windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket.

This went on for about 20 minutes. The more I abused him, the more
tickets he wrote. Personally, I didn't care. I came downtown on
the bus and the car that he was putting the tickets on had a bumper sticker
that said "Hillary in '08."

I try to have a little fun each day now that I'm retired. It's
important to my health.

And Edwards has experience?? Six years in the Senate????

Biden has 34 years experience and has served on more committees that matter than any candidate out there.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing ? Big Grin
I do not vote for anyone who is for banning guns or reducing the 2nd Amendment. The Klintons, Edwards, Scarry Kerry, etc. are all anti-2nd Amendment. Most of the Democrap platform is against the 2nd Amendment (the "duck hunting" ruses do not fool me, I look at the record and base it on that). I remember 1993-94 vividly, and the Democraps paid dearly for it.
Everybody KNOWS I am no Republican, what most DON'T know is I have no trust in Democrats either! I am a TRUE independent but given the chose and track record I will vote for the person and platform so I lean more Democrat. My choice, and if you happen to catch him on C-Span watch and listen, is Joe Biden. The man is intelligent and every speech and even townhall meeting I have heard I haven't found anything yet I disagree with. Edwards had his chance and he and the Democrats blew it in 2004. They better get their act together this time, as I have said, 2 down one to go and this is their last chance! I would vote for Elizabeth Romine for President before I would elect George Bush (Thank God he can't run) or "tricky" Dicky Cheney and it looks like the Republican candidate will be John McCain whose solution to the mess Prince George made in Iraq is not only stay the course but widen the road with more troops with deaths and wasted money. So, if he is nominated I will vote for Joe Biden, if not I may vote Green Party.
