Yep between Fort Walton Beach and Niceville, Florida. Spent 4 pretty darn good years there.

That was the point -- read Trevor's article in which he mentions "Elgin" Air Force Base. I believe he meant Eglin.

Trevor isn't known for getting details right. That's why the topic is in Feedback, not that any of us thinks the TD read much of it.

Tyndall Air Force Base is located near Panama City Beach/Pensacola. (With Hurlbuert and Duke Fields annex.)Eglin AFB is not that far away near Valparaiso, Florida. Eglin AFB is NOT in TX. I have spent time at both Tyndall and Eglin and they are absolutely wonderful!

Nearest AFB to Galveston would be Ellington though I doubt many would consider it to be in Galveston. It's closer to Houston.

Your thought was correct. I lived near the base years ago and I know I was in Florida.
