Hi all,

My dear Friend, Chick, reminds me very much of a kid I knew in grade school in Sheffield.  He was the kind who would stand in the back of the crowd,  yelling,"Hit him!" -- in his attempts to cause others to fight.

Or, he would sneak up behind a person, hit him in the back -- and run for home.  Many times, I chased him home.  But, being the coward of the class -- he had learned to run fast.

And, I just cannot help but picture him -- every time I see a post from Chick, even before I open her post I am reassured that she has not changed.

Bless her little heart!

Bill

Well, of course, we want to bump your discussions, you silly ole fool. How else are we going to make sure those that might miss it see what an ass you're always making of yourself?

And oh, you made a wee bit of a misprint on one of your words. We all know you meant Satan but you mistakenly put God. But I fixed it for you....oh, and you're welcome!

Yes, I did a reprint of a post already made cause it goes with the one you already made.

Dove, my Friend,

You and I both know that if I left the TimesDaily Religion Forum -- you and your small handful of bosom buddies would be crushed!  Look at it this way, for that small group of confused dissidents, I offer a reason to wake up -- in hopes that you can find me wrong -- somewhere, somehow.

Yet, I can actually feel the disappointment you and your bosom buddies must feel each day -- as you search the Bible (if you can find one) -- trying to disprove my writings.  I am so sorry that I always disappoint all y'all!   But, when one stays with Biblical Truths -- it is hard, no, impossible, to disprove.   But, your "foot in mouth" gang still keeps trying.

So, I suppose we can give all y'all an "A" for effort -- but a definite "F" for results.

However, there is one thing in which you can rejoice.  As long as God is willing -- I WILL be on the TimesDaily Religion Forum sharing His Biblical Truths.   Count on it!

Bless all y'alls' confused little hearts!

Bill, does that pride & haughty spirit that Satan gave you ever get to heavy to carry? It's amazing that a grown man would actually admit to having such an ego.

The Bible says " Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall". I would sure hate to be you on the day that's coming. Satan will leave you & you will stand alone. You are a very sad, pitiful little man.

Hi all,

ONLY atheists, or equally spirit deprived individuals, such as my Friends  Crusty and Crash (a new dance team?) -- could make such inane and childish statements.

As Jesus said on the cross, "Forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34).

So, I suppose we should also forgive them.  For it is most certain, absolute, that they do not know what they are saying -- or even why.   Except maybe because they are so afraid of God -- that they must insist upon denying Him.   Such a pity -- when He is really so accessible to all people, even these two!

Bless their spiritless little hearts!

Actually he said "And Jesus said: Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.  But they, dividing his garments, cast lots."

Vic, my Friend,

Good!  For once we do agree on something.  On the cross, Jesus Christ did say, "Forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34).

True, the full verse does read:

Luke 23:34 (nasb), "But Jesus was saying, 'Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.'  And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves."

But, when we do not leave out the quotation marks, we see that Jesus did say, "Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing."

So, when I wrote that Jesus said, "Forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing” -- how can that be wrong?   He did, indeed, say that on the cross.

My Friend, you really do need more exegesis in your Bible study -- and leave out the eisegesis!

But, bless your heart, that was a good attempt to twist things.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Vic, my Friend,

There is little thing we learned in grade school -- called quotation marks.  Since you must have been educated up north somewhere -- maybe they did not use them.  But, in schools which speak and teach English -- those quotation marks indicate that a person has spoken.  And, in this case, the person is known as Jesus Christ.   Maybe you have never met Him.  Not to worry, I can introduce you.  He and I are very close personal Friends.

Luke 23:34 (nkjv), "Then Jesus said,'Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.'  And they divided His garments and cast lots.

Let me know when you want me to introduce you to Jesus.

Bill, You Pompous Patoot!

Your snide, pedantic, over-reaching grammar-sharping sortie evidences just how egregiously obnoxious you have become.  Vic reproduced the verse, showing the Book, Chapter, and Verse in a manner that made it perfectly obvious that he was posting material as it appears in scripture. Your implicit insult to northern schools is utterly uncalled for.  Your own former school system in Sheffield, Alabama  and most others in this state characteristically have long lagged behind the national average.

P.S.: (1)   If your demanding standards are so exalted and you want to get totally right with the grammar gods, you need to change your "which" to a "that".  (2)  You say, "...those quotation marks indicate that a person has spoken."   That generalized statement falls short of adequately defining the purpose of quotation marks.  They not only indicate that a person has spoken but, when correctly used, they indicate that the words they enclose are the exact words spoken, a principle all of us should consistently follow.

Crusty, my Friend,

As usual, "you open mouth before putting your brain in gear."

Vic is using the King James Bible, claiming that Jesus said all of what is written in Luke 23:34, instead of His just saying, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do."  -- because the KJV does not include quotation marks.

Luke 23:34 (kjv), 34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.  And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Yet, anyone should be able to read that Scripture verse (even you) and know when Jesus was being quoted -- and when the writer was giving us additional information about Him.   I am quite sure, even without quotation marks -- that Jesus did not say, "And they parted his raiment, and cast lots."

As I said, I am sure that even you could figure that out.   Yet, my Roman Catholic Friend, Vic, could not.  So, I was only helping him learn grammar.   Do YOU need any help?

Bless your little heart!

Bill Gray,

Surely, somewhere around your diggins, you must have a towel of some kind.  It is time to throw in that towel to Crusty, since he obviously ratted out the glaring inconsistency in your treatment of quotation marks.

By the way, Bill, have you noticed that there are ZERO quotation marks within the text of the King James Version?  Apparently the translators expected readers to see the obvious.

Contendah, my Friend,

By George, old Crusty did catch me in a mistake!  Wow!  Can you imagine -- my first one!   Actually, I did make another mistake some years ago -- when I thought I had made a mistake.

But, you stay with us and maybe you will learn something also.   I don't mind teaching both you and Crusty.

Bless your little hearts!

Bill

Bill, what are you doing on this forum? I would truly like to know. If you think about it, you are constantly making fun & ridiculing the majority of people on here. You don't seem to like anyone here except maybe 2-4 people that I could name but only because they kiss your ass & stroke your ego.

You mockingly call us your friends, knowing the majority doesn't like you at all. Is your life so empty & dull that you have to come here to get your jollies? You claim to have a gift for writing but the "gift" you have, anyone with an ounce of sense knows that God didn't give it to you.

You are truly a sad little man that loves being the classroom bully. You make a fool of yourself with every post you make & show yourself to be exactly what you are. That facade you put on isn't fooling the people that dialog with you.

I don't like you but I do find myself feeling very sorry for you. You must be a very lonely man that has a life with no love/happiness in it.

Chick, my Friend,

A Christian believer is called a Christ Follower.   If we are to follow our Lord, we must do our best to emulate Him.

How did Jesus answer when asked about hanging with the sinners?

Luke 5:30-32, "The Pharisees and their scribes began grumbling at His disciples, saying, 'Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?'  And Jesus answered and said to them, 'It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick.  I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.' "

And, Jesus gave believers special instructions -- that we should be His witnesses in all the world (Acts 1:8, Mark 16:15) -- not just among those who like us.

So, to be a good Christ Follower -- I hang with the likes of you.   Who knows, maybe one day a wee bit of Light will pierce that shield of darkness which holds all your bitterness and hate.   With God all things are possible!

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Chick, my Friend,

When Jesus was on earth, He hung with the sinners:

Mark 2:16, "When the scribes of the Pharisees saw that He was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they said to His disciples, 'Why is He eating and drinking with tax collectors and sinners?' ”

And, when questioned about it, He told them:

Mark 2:17, "And hearing this, Jesus said to them, 'It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.'

Now, as a Christian believer, a Christ Follower -- can I do less than try my best to emulate Him?   So, since He called sinners His Friends -- should I not call you and your cabal buddies my Friends?

Now, my Friend, YOU know the truth!

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

You left off one more kind of "friend," namely the pompous smart-ass know-it-all who insistently calls people his "friends" and then insults them will silly little attempted (but failed) "gotchas" and puerile cartoon clips.  Know anyone like THAT?
