I did not have the opportunity to go yesterday, but plan on trying it tonight.  However, a friend of mine went yesterday and sent me a text saying it was every bit as good as the ones in Huntsville and he was very impressed.   Which I expected, seeing as it is the same owner.  But perhaps your experience could be chalked up to it being new.  I expect a lot when I go there, and from what my friend said, I expect I will get it.

Ate there this past Tuesday. Was not impressed at all. Have had better a burger, most definitely a hotter one. Fries were hot and greasy though. The show was entertaining, staff climbing all over each other and way to many people handling my food. The last really great burger I had was on Big Pine sland in the Keys, Rob's Beach Bar. Their cook was a true hamburger chef.

My first experience at eating at a Five Guys was in Decatur, just over a year ago. I have since eating at the Five Guys in Huntsville, Gardendale and Decatur, as well as the Florence location. As compared with the other locations, the Florence location is seriously lacking in quality, and service. I know they are a newly opened store, but they have a lot of issues to work out.

One of the things that I disliked the most at the Florence location was the amount of noise. The noise level was so loud, that I would not have a conversation with the person, whom I was dining with. Based on my knowledge of construction and design, I believe the noise level was enhanced by the higher ceiling level design. If I visit again, it will be during a low customer count or get my order to go.

#1 Worst Side Item-Five Guys Fries

1474 calories

71g fat

213mg sodium

If you ate one large order of these things every week for a year, you would take in more than 8 pounds of pure fat, all of it straight out of Five Guys’ deep fryer.

From yahoo health.

Which is why they are so tasty.  I bet you don't like bacon either.

I do remember the days of killing hogs. We would get together with the neighbors to do it. The much older neighbor called my dad a “city slicker” because he would use a 22 to kill the hog. “I don’t know why you want to go and waste a bullet when a 2X4 and a 16 penny nail will do just as good.” He would say. It still makes me laugh.

Yeah, we would all get together roll the hog off in a big vat of scalding water, scrape the hair off and continue on.  There was always this little old lady who would get the head and make head cheese.  I can still remember seeing my great uncle making chittlins.  Boiling them and then slinging the crap out of them.  For those who don't know, really slinging the crap out of them.  Those were great days.

I went to Five Guy's yesterday. It was OK, I would never say it was the best I've ever had, cooked on a flat grill! The fries was cooked to perfection for me but the styrafoam cup they put them in took away quality because it caused them to get soggy. There was way too many fries for one person to eat. The burger was good, big and greasy, I hurt for the rest of the day because it is just way too much food fat. If I ever go back I will either have to bring someone to share it with or take half for later. All in all, I would rather have a burger cooked on a fired grill of one kind or another.

As for me I hope Five Guys does great here but I had my doubts given the thoughts of many people about eating out and restaurants.  A lot of folks think McDonalds and Burger King are too high and well wouldn't enter a place that had a hamburger that cost in excess of $3.50.  As for myself and my family we'll be there anytime we want a great hamburger/cheese burger because I believe they make up in quality and taste what extra they charge.

We just got a Five Guys in St. George, Utah about a year ago.

That's some good eaten. Not only are the fries the best and most plentiful.

They have free Peanuts while you wait. Hope yours will be as good.
