Any suggestions as to a good flight simulator program? I travel a lot and would like a program that works well on a notebook computer and can be controlled by the keyboard instead of a game controller.
I am a flight simulator junkie and started playing them in the days of the 8088 processors with the line drawings. byfar the most realistic and complex has to be the Microsoft Flight Sim, which I think is up to version 10X. A really good flight sim is very memory hungry and requires a pretty high frame rate to prevent it from looking jumpy. I think you can go to Microsoft's website and download a demo and test it out on your computer. If you are looking for war like sims, some of the higher end games like Falcon, not sure of the latest version, is pretty good. A newer laptop with a good graphics card should work on any of these, but read the label first. For the money Microsoft's Flight Sim is the best, IMO.
Thanks, I'll look into Falcon. I like the ability to shoot things. I had EF2000 and really enjoyed it but never could get it to work on anything but Win 95 machines.
