It's cute, how Republicans pretend they had nothing to do with the 'fake dossier'.

Unbelievable the way SirTrollette thinks every lie he spins is "Cute"

Hillary and the DNC, thru a law firm, initiated the compilation of the dossier. The WashPo broke this news in October.  They used a law firm as a cut out to fund the dossier and didn't report the expense (upwards of $9 million) to the FEC.  That, itself, is a civil crime and can result in a fine.  Hiring a foreigner to do the work may be a felony depending upon the reading of US election laws.  Like I've stated several times,  if Russians provided Steele with such information, they would now either be dead or in Lefortovo prison praying for death.  That's a major reason I find the idea that FSB agents betrayed Putin to be ridiculous.

"The Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee helped fund research that resulted in a now-famous dossier containing allegations about President Trump's connections to Russia and possible coordination between his campaign and the Kremlin, people familiar with the matter said.

Marc E. Elias, a lawyer representing the Clinton campaign and the DNC, retained Fusion GPS, a Washington firm, to conduct the research.

After that, Fusion GPS hired dossier author Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence officer with ties to the FBI and the U.S. intelligence community, according to those people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Elias and his law firm, Perkins Coie, retained the company in April 2016 on behalf of the Clinton campaign and the DNC. Before that agreement, Fusion GPS's research into Trump was funded by an unknown Republican client during the GOP primary.

The Clinton campaign and the DNC, through the law firm, continued to fund Fusion GPS's research through the end of October 2016, days before Election Day."

Liarstraights proves his own lies in the article he posted. That's priceless. Either the dossier was initially funded by 'unknown Republican' or Hillary, not both. Hillary nor the DNC began the research for the dossier. A Republican initiated the dossier. Now, Republicans want to change the narrative to not include themselves.

A bit more info on the fake dossier, yes, a Republican candidate did hire Fusion GPS to do opposition research against Trump.  The candidate never used the information.  For what reason wasn't announced -- either, the candidate didn't trust the info, or Trump had defeated the candidate.  The information was from open source material -- newspapers, magazines, news, etc.

While the information may have been used as part of the dossier, the dossier was supposedly sourced by former MI6 agent, Christopher Steele from informants in Russia, who had super secret scandalous information.  As I stated, I doubt the existence of such informants as Putin's FSB would ensure their lives would be shortened -- painfully shortened.  Hillary and the DNC attempted to hide their funding (reportedly from$9 to $12 million)  by using a law firm as a cut out (illegally) to Fusion GPS.

Further, Associate Deputy AG Bruce Ohr was demoted for hiding his meeting with Fusion GPS associates.

"Bruce Ohr lost his position as associate deputy attorney general after it was revealed that he had concealed his meetings with Glenn Simpson, founder of Fusion GPS, and Christopher Steele, a former British spy hired by Fusion GPS to produce the so-called Trump dossier."

The meetings took place during the presidential elections in 2016.

"Ohr's wife, Nellie, also worked for Fusion GPS in 2016, Fox News reported based on information from the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

It is unclear whether Nellie Ohr was involved with the Trump dossier, but she has written on Russia matters before. Ohr received payments from Fusion GPS through the summer and fall of 2016, the same time that the dossier was being produced."

Remember, all this was supposed to never see the light of day as Hillary was sure to win.

Now demoted FBI Deputy Director McCabe  was interviewed en camera by the House Intelligence Committee.  As the meeting was in secret, we don't know what information was revealed.  However, committee members stated McCabe's answers were not very helpful.  For that reason, more persons are being subpoenaed as witnesses.  When, the FBI IG releases his report (about March) we'll know what McCabe was demoted and is retiring.

What we do know is that the FBI was weaponized against political opponents during the campaign.

We would know nothing of this corruption of the leadership within the Federal government's premier law enforcement arm if Hillary were elected.  Instead, Trump is president.  Hillary was hiding out in the woods until the local Sasquatch sent her an eviction notice for stinking up the place.
