In WWII, we used the mafia thru Lucky Luciano to end dock strikes and ferret out fascists agents on the docks, plus in the invasion of Sicily. Numerous US lives were saved and Lucky had his sentence shortened.
Sounds like the Soprano's episode where Tony started worrying about terrorists coming in via the cargo containers.
Wouldn't worry about that too much. People have attempted to sneak in that way -- either froze to dead or died of heat stroke, depending upon the time of year.
Wonder if they could do a little "sumpin sumpin" else for us?
