Can this area sustain another oriental restaurant? Wonder if it will be anything different.
Mongolian Barbeque is awesome!!!!!!
Considering the origin, its always made me a bit queasy As tribute, the Mongols demanded hundreds of Chinese women. annually. The Chinese women were much more attractive than the Mongol women. Mongol men took the Chinese ladies for wives and demoted their own to the barbeque menu.
The spelling may not be right, but the ones I've been to are good.
I may try Genghis Grill when they open. That is the correct spelling, no offence.
Genghis Grill opened today, and I have to say I liked the food. You can review the restaurant here.
The ones I've been too, the food is good, be careful with the seasonings. It's very easy to get carried away.
I tried it yesterday. They were busy since every new place always gets a ton of people to try it out. The seating is a little cramped, but the décor is nice. I was greeted and seated quickly. The waitress was efficient and pleasant, and explained the process very well. I had the dinner bowl (regular size -since swimsuit season is upon us). I opted for shredded beef, then added various vegetables including water chestnuts, broccoli, green onions, snow peas and cilantro. Then several seasoning, all of which I controlled the amount. I added a combination of several sauces, and it was combined with fried rice and an egg. Brought to my table in a steaming bowl in a bout five minutes. It was delicious, and fresh. I enjoyed it, and it will definitely be on my list of favorite places close to the house. I overheard someone sitting next to my table complaining about there not being enough sauce on their stirfry. I am not sure how you can complain when you control the sauce and the amount to be placed on your meal, but the manager was very pleasant and seemed willing to help them out, even offering to have their food remade for them.
Can't wait to try it!
Is it Kosher?

Kosher Mongolian barbeque that would be interesting.
A couple of cute buyers for a department store chain was visiting to see about buying from the area designers asked if there were any kosher places in the Shoals area. Best I could tell them was there is a temple in Florence and Books-a-Million carries bagels,
Chinese must be Kosher, that is where Jews eat on Christmas day.

Good one, I told this before. At their schule, a rabbi pointed out that their calendar was about 500 years older than the Chinese calendar. Then, asked the significance, Student responded to the reb that for about 500 years they had no takeout.
